It’s off lads we just need to accept it and move on. relegation will banish us to the lower leagues for years to come...
The worrying thing for me is. Without fans and outside of the PL we would be no different to any other club. Our advantage is the fan base.
agreed. Hopefully this vaccine will allow some to return earlier than expected now. I have a feeling that when the Oxford vaccine is passed then we will be vaccinating 1-2m a week which means we achieve hers immunity by June.
Why should they change their business plan? It's not like buying a Mars bar it's a structured bid. All this nonsense about changing structure have nothing to do with it. It either should pass or it shouldn't and they along with Mike ashley and nick de Marco are highly confident it should pass..
The other point is they clearly reached a point when they realised that no matter what they said or did they'd keep moving the goalposts, so they refused arbitration on one solitary aspect and when to arbitration for the entire test... Then no more goal posts can be moved. The key point is that the premier doesn't want to pass it and that's been lost on many people... The details of the deal are nothing to do with it.. They could reshuffle it anyway and they'd still do nothing.
Let’s hope so. I’m just saying it’s not cut and dry and it never is. Ashley is a twat and I don’t believe he is doing this for the good of the club. We have a total prat managing us who says he is a fan and yet he slams us for wanting us to win games? Our owner is more obsessed with the high street and taking over failed businesses to milk them. Guess what he’s doing it to us and we just lap it up. The takeover (assuming it’s actually still an option) is the only way we will get any sort of enjoyment out of our club. And even THAT is becoming a farce. We are taking black and white photos from a chap in Brighton as a sign of hope...... that’s where we really are. If it goes through I will obviously be happy as MA has been a parasite. But forgive me for thinking that this purgatory he has brought on is going to end soon. For the record this is not a dig at you mate, it’s more the sheer frustration at being a nufc fan!!!
I know mate and you're correct it's not certain, but people seem to be suggesting it's definitely off and it's quite clearly still going on. Some people are looking at all the evidence and concluding it's still on and others who've taken up the IT'S OFF position are dismissing it all as fakenews. The only correct position is to say I don't know and make a prediction either side of that. I'm predicting it goes through if we stay up or perhaps an outside chance of January, but not a chance from Feb - premier league survival. If they lose the case stavely will release a statement of sorts ssying its over.. She hasn't done that! The last thing we heard from her was this Speaking on behalf of myself and my husband, the Reuben family and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, we are not just overwhelmed by your support, we are humbled by it. Our group has received emails and messages in the thousands and I can’t begin to tell you what that means to us. We do not take it for granted. We understand that a strong Supporters’ Trust means a strong Newcastle. And we understand and have seen again just how powerful and beautiful a united Newcastle can truly be.
Pleased someone on here is keeping up. The negativity of some on here combined with an absolute failure to read between the lines is amazing. Why should the Saudi’s restructure if there was nothing wrong in the first place? Why did it take the PL so long not to make a decision? Why were the PL contacting the Government? Why is Ashley proceeding with arbitration with two QC’s not suited for claiming compensation but for arguing International law and Sports Law issues? Plus so many other points. Coco the Clown would become Coco the Depressed on here pretty darn fast.
I honestly think people have overlooked all the obvious things and focused on the bread alone... The bread was just a wink
I suppose the good news is that things can’t really get that much worse. If it does we are going down. I like to see hard facts and not read between the lines. With MA we have had 14 years of lies and utter tripe so why would we be positive about things right now I’m more than happy to sit and wait for the takeover to go ahead assuming it’s still on the table.
The problem with the Burnley takeover is that you'd expect they'll spend decent money in January, so out survival becomes more difficult..
It seems they’ve been acquired by a venture capitalist company specialising in sport. Expect a ‘moneyball’ Sherman style effort. I’d not be overly excited as a Burnley fan tbph mate.
It remains absolutely set in stone for me. You can go back a decade and see posts from me saying the same thing - you can't value something based on its' debt. NUFC isn't and has never been worth anywhere near £300m. It's overpriced by around £100m or so, which is what Ashley throws in as monies owed therefore the price on the ticket. That's not how the world works. The club isn't worth £300m simply because Ashley's stupidity and greed have cost it £100m. The reality is that he - the individual Mike Ashley - has simply 'lost' £100m of his own money through utter blind stupidity, just like any number of wealthy businessmen have over the years. But instead of writing it off as his own stupidity, he's holding the club accountable and ultimately stopping it from being taken over. He has no real need for £300m cash, he's happy for the asset to sit there as long as it's a) costing him none of his own money, and b) in the Premier League (which is essential to ensure (a) continues). Hence why he just can't be arsed to do whatever he needs to do to sell it. Maybe, just maybe, if Covid hadn't hit the Saudi's would have matched his obscene demands. But that's just a maybe. Without Covid, he would still be an unwilling seller and a bastard of a negotiator, 100% likely to move the goalposts at the last minute, which itself is not a tactic that will work with Saudi's. So the odds are seriously against us that he would have even sold. Conveniently for him, he can blame the PL and as @Tobes says, is probably seeking recompense for monies lost. He's a devious, greedy **** of a man and would happily spend £30m in legal costs to get £30m from the PL. This notion he's sueing on behalf of Saudi Arabia, to prove something he cannot prove himself, is beyond ludicrous. With the Covid situation, I think he'd quite like to be rid of the club - his urgency was greater when the High Street was in real danger, but he seems less interested now the market has picked up again. Either way, in terms of valuing the club he simply doesn't bend to market factors. As I've said countless times, he could sell up and leave tomorrow if the club was for sale at £200m. He won't do that. Meanwhile, the narrative created by the fans of this crusade he's taking up on behalf of the club is ****ing mental and - as usual - plays right into Ashley's hands. He's loving this, make no mistake. Look at the MoneyMikeAshley account on Twitter - it was so accurate, it had to be taken down after a threat from his side!! He's never, ever done anything for anyone bar himself. This simply cannot be any different. He can't be using legal people to force a sale, if there's no buyer! 1) If KSA want to buy a club, they'll do it and easily find a way (i.e. Marseille). 2) If MA wanted to sell, he'd write off the loan and claw back £220m or so. 3) If the price was accurate, there'd be no shortage of buyers. 4) Until MA wants to sell at the right price, he will never leave, regardless of whether it's Jeff Bezos or Jeff Stelling trying to buy it. To think about, or dwell on, any other scenario, will drive you insane.
Yet here you are again. Just don't look on this thread and your problems are solved. For me, until there is a takeover (by anyone) there is no NUFC.
