More than happy that he chooses to do with his money what he does, good for him. I just think his motivation might not be totally philanthropic.

Especially if you include the large donations to differing political parties...keeping his options open. However, his philanthropic approach is very welcome and shows a slightly different side to the family.

Is it really? A big claim to make. Anything to back it up?

What is in the public domain is Allam seniors reaction to being told no. The spat with the council, and the name change. A section of the crowd singing City Till I Die, a section of the crowd booing. "It's his money he can call us what he wants" was the generalisation, though Bruce Snr did add "play in pink".

As everybody on here loves this, the above is FACT. Irrefutable FACT. Only the naive would believe he is all sweetness and light in his other dealings.

Though there is no truth in the myth, nor any suggestion whatsoever in the very much unsubstantiated rumour, that visiting dignitaries were briefed, that perhaps best not to ask what the specialist medical field was of the doctor whose name adorned the building.

It would help if there were people actively working to get the club sold.

Prospective Burnley owners ALK Capital are confident of completing their takeover of the club by the end of the week.

It is understood ALK managing director Alan Pace is in Lancashire to sort out the final details.

The deal may be ratified before Burnley play Fulham in a crucial Premier League game on Sunday.

Pace has passed the Premier League's owners and directors' test and intends to take a hands-on role at the club.

ALK is an American sports investment firm headed up by Pace, former president of Major League Soccer side Real Salt Lake.

It is not known what extent current Burnley chairman Mike Garlick will remain involved at Turf Moor once he has sold his near 50% stake in the club.

The news will come as a boost to Clarets boss Sean Dyche as ALK had already stated their intention to help him in next month's transfer window.

Burnley are currently 17th in the table, two points above Fulham who occupy the first relegation place. They entertain bottom club Sheffield United at Turf Moor later this evening.

In what sense Steven? Contact purplebricks and get them to put some for sale signs up in strategic places? How do any of us know,as matter of fact, whether or not the Club are doing anything to promote the sale?

The FACT that it has supposedly been up for sale for 6 1/2 years is surely evidence enough?
Putting a ridiculously high price on it that they know nobody will pay doesn't count as 'doing anything to promote the sale' by the way.

Far too much. That's the FACT supported by the evidence of no sale in 6 1/2 years.

Wasn't it recently quoted as £25mill plus remaining cash due in on Bowen and Maguire (so £35m+)? What a joke.

    Source?
The only quote I've seen from Allam is that it would be independently valued.

It's hardly a secret, the owners themselves have been saying the recovery of their debt is the asking price and always have been.

Ehab said they'd look at a reduced sale price following relegation in the summer, but that was still based on £15-20m in cash, along with the outstanding transfer payments' (which were £13-15m at the time he made the comments).

If you seriously think the Allams have been in any way realistic about the selling price, at any point in the past six years, you've obviously not been paying attention.

Dr Allam is an accountant and his figures don't add up either.

If you hav'nt sold something that has been on the market for over 6 years the price is too high.

The Allams have never had any intention of selling the cash cow that is Hull City. Their business plan is to invest no money into the club whilst taking out millions every year via interest payments on the debt to Allamhouse. They keep Hull City permanently in debt to Alllamhouse as that is how they earn their money. They are leeches sucking the lifeblood out of Hull City & their incompetence & arrogance has seen them take the club from the Premier League to Div 1, for which I personally will never forgive them for.
