Arbitration is merely the sensible precursor to highly expensive and potentially mutually damaging court proceedings. It’s not finite or purely a matter of deciding legal ‘fact’. ADR is commonplace across all legal disputes, but unless one or both parties agree to accept the arbitrators conclusion, it’s merely a sensible staging point that can often lead to compromise settlements.
incorrect. Neither caulkin nor kennedy have a thing on their timelines about it over the past 2 days.
Right now before anyone pipes up... Take note Jason burt was the very 1st person to report papers had gone to the premier league way back in March, so he's got a good source. Caulken has also said its to win the right to change ownership Kennedy whether you think it or not had a good source and he ha been accurate throughout.
But he won’t lose a penny. He will win the arb. But I’m still convinced it’s for compo. remember he got 17m up front from PIF so he’s quids in already.
So if that’s the case. There is currently no bid on the table. The case needs to be won. Then a bid goes in and THEN it can be rejected again anyways. This arbitration is bullshit. It’s smoke and mirrors. SB is taking us towards relegation and the takeover is miles away.
Mate it's quite simple Win arbitration and stay up and then it sails through.... It's staying up in more concerned about than the 1st part.. I think the first parts a given
All this PL/PIF stuff is such bullshit. All PIF had to do was set up Saudi Sports Investments independently and BOOM, football club is theirs. Or AS/RB could have set up a vehicle, sought investment and worked on an agreement for assets, or whatever - I'm sure @Tobes can keep me honest here, but there are a multitude options for sorting this out quickly and painlessly. I cannot see how Mike Ashley is doing this for anything other than himself - PIF announced a change of direction and weren't interested anymore. 14 years of this guy being the single most selfish, arrogant piece of **** and somehow NOW he's doing something for the club?! Will we never learn.
MA only does things for himself. He’s admitted he lies. Charnley is the one carrying out the lies on his instructions. SB is also doing the same. I struggle to believe things are going to improve because over the last 14 years it’s gone down hill to the extent that the club is effectively dead. Covid was the best thing that could have happened for MA. It was a perfect excuse. It’s also the best thing for SB as he doesn’t get the fans opinions. Now that the media are slowly turning against him he is starting to go back into his shell and blame the fans for our “expectations”! I wonder who planted that into his fat skull given “he’s a fan”! Without a takeover we are dying. Or dead.

In a word yes mate. Setting up a new sports investment arm that had no members of the house of Saud on the board, but proven funds in place would surely have been the easiest method of avoiding the ownership question that appears to have ended their interest. What I don’t get about this saga, is that the Saudis were offered arbitration by the PL over the point of disagreement, they refused and then later removed their bid, citing the process length and the change in the world economic climate. So what is Ashley claiming for here? That the PL’s interpretation of the ownership rules have cost him a substantial fiscal loss? The time taken was unreasonable which has lost him his buyer and again caused fiscal loss? If his beef is the test itself, than surely as a current part owner of the PL himself, then that should be done via a PL board meeting? I don’t get it. The assumption amongst Geordies is that he’s setting out to prove that there was legal separation between the House of Saud and PIF, which is an odd case for anyone but PIF themselves to be bringing, and also a tough gig to prove given who the Chairman of PIF is.
The problem is that's not how they wanted to set it up in the 1st place... They're going to have it their way
Which leads to an issue. My way or the highway. Rather than working towards a common goal. They should have played ball. And took the higher moral ground....oh wait they couldn’t!!!! It’s a concern that they won’t do it the PL way.? Why not?
