Looking at the clubs in L1, there are at least 7 we used to play regularly in the Championship and even a couple in the PL too.

Not great for the kudos and the finances but maybe we need a dose of that to rebuild (again).

There was a time that might have been true but the revenue gap now between this league and the one below is huge and being made worse by Covid. They really get the scraps of the scraps. Some bigger, better resourced clubs than us have struggled for years after going down so I think the long term future of the club would be in even greater danger than it already is.

From the point of view of just enjoying a Saturday going through the routine of a day at the football it’s potentially better like it was last time but that’s about it and doubt we’ll be doing that properly this side of 2022.

Fair points.
Clearly relegation not at all desirable but I suppose mentally preparing myself. :emoticon-0107-sweat

I think that there are a lot of clubs that want a 30 goals a season striker, however, you don't find them in the bargain basement bin. I think (and will be prepared to be shot down) that IF we can can players playing to Dykes strength, the more chances he gets, the more likely he is to go on a run. We need to get behind the players. At the moment it appears that MW needs to install some discipline in the team in terms of not switching off. BOS needs to decide what he wants to do, and if stay we play in first team, but if he wants to go, then sell him and / or put in him in the reserves. I think the best signing the club can do is get in Clint Hill and let him train the defence. I still think we are a defender light along with a midfielder.

I can’t see the board sanctioning a January buy-in. It’s more likely that Warburton might go (if as has been said his contract ends this season then there isn’t much to pay up).
But I too am fed up with the managerial merry-go-round, but I also don’t want to see us into a relegation battle we could lose.
There needs to be a big discussion at HQ, because if there isn’t a viable alternative to bring in as manager what’s the point!
I’m sure they thought they could get through this season comfortably without being relegated, but it isn’t happening.
Big problems require big decisions ... and that’s what Les, Hoos and the board are paid for. There is a lot riding on which way they leap!
I reckon like others have said, that whoever the Manager is in January the Board will have to sanction bringing in at the very least, a goal scorer or 2 on loan, or we will be very much at risk of dropping to League 1 next season, which would probably cost us a lot more. Our squad isnt big enough, not experienced enough, and needs goal scorers. Ideally it needs strengthening in most other positions too.

unbelievable. might apply for that job. sign 2 or 3 year deal for 50 days work, get the sack and contract paid up.
however, maybe they are more financially screwed by covid than anyone realises..

Pearson and Pulis both available.
Be careful what you wish for.

Pearson will probably go to Wednesday...and he will do okay there.
Not pretty to watch...but the Wednesday board won't care

We're desperate.
I'd take Pearson to kick a few heads and get a reaction but he won't come with us having a DoF.
Pulis............ never.
As l've mentioned earlier, l think we will struggle to find anyone half worthy of turning us around.
To me, that's our biggest worry.

We are not the most attractive proposition for most managers/coaches. If you're doing well, the better players will be sold, if youre doing ****, youre sacked. No money to bring in players. The last few years under Holloway, McLaren and now Warburton have been much the same. Apart from early last seasons goal fests, we havent progressed at all. I honestly wouldnt mind a 'nobody' as manager. Someone with nothing to lose but plenty to gain. It's always the same names linked with posts.
