Stan and Wenger. I remember many years ago at an interview, the interviewee a West Ham supporter asked me "If you could have an audience with Wenger, what would you ask him"? Those heady days, I could not think of any decent questions to ask the big man, apart from how do you do it?

I wonder what questions Stan and Wenger will be asked, if gooners had the chance?

    I'd have a question:

Mr Wenger, what do you think of all these supporters who think they know better than you, but in reality have only ever played football manager on their PC's?

    <ok>
I'd also ask him if we'd be better off with those who supported Arsenal before he became manager rather than the plastic glory hunters who follow us now

I'd want to ask him why he did all his transfer business on the last day but would probably bottle it and say something boring instead.

  5. I would ask Arsene how he plans to reverse the downward spiral that has existed since March of this year and how long before he expects to see light at the end of the tunnel and then call it a day if the task proved to be just that bridge too far ... if he'd take my question and of Silent Stan I would inquire what plans he had for investing in the club as opposed to merely buying shares and if there weren't any would he consider letting someone else in who had a vision for the club but doubt if I would get a straight answer indeed from any of them.

The OP's original question was asking what we would ask AW if we had the chance <ok>

Like you I doubt if we would get a straight answer from the pair of them......
@Piskie and gonercym, I know your comments are a veiled attack on anyone who questions the current regime. I wonder why any fan, who dares to question or expresses an unhappiness at the direction of the club is a plastic, has only been supporting the club 5minutes, glory-hunter or should stick to playing FIFA08/Football Manager or whatever the latest game is. I think apathy is just as bad as those who moan and whinge even when we are doing relatively well. Waiting to speak up is waiting until it is too late......

I'd say ' What should we write on your tombstone?'
He'd probably answer 'Should have worn a stab-vest'

My post is an attack on those who support the club during the good times. It's funny how tickets for home games are now going on general sale just because the team isn't playing well.

  14. Well Cym

Perhaps some of these may feel the only way to make their point about what is happening to our team was to not attend matches. I mean it's not as though they can all have a sit-in with Arsene ;) and questions at the forthcoming AGM I understand have to be submitted in advance. One presumes not all will be answered.

Digressing a little, you say people are staying away because the team is not playing that well..... I think that is too simplistic a view. We are in dire economic times, you put money into a club (well only pennies, I hear you say), you do not believe you are getting value for money, what do you do? Someone on an earlier post mentioned that fans no longer matter to Premiership teams, as they once did, what voice do we have? I don't know why fans are staying away.... I wonder if it has anything to do with the tough economic conditions we live in, and you have to scrutinise what you spend the little you have on, and make every penny you spend stretch a little bit more.

Well to answer my question, I would like to ask Arsene, what he thinks about his (youth) experiment, does he think it has been successful? If not will he now abandon the project and start afresh?

I totally accept the economic argument but wasn't the country struggling last year and we were still selling our games out

  19. I was trying to say that but you put it even more eloquently Mr Gooner.

It's not as straightforward Cym and a year later, the belts may have to be even tighter.......

goonercym - I thought being a supporter was about supporting your club through the bad times aswell as the good

BUT does that mean we are not entitled to question leadership, or even dare think all is not well?
Sounds like you advocate lemmings - lets all dive over the cliff together boys....
