He's risking his reputation and millions of pounds, the club is shot to pieces in Li and the supporters have suffered years of failure .... ... I'm pretty sure he has enough pressure on him without the supporters 'going in hard'. As it happens I'm certainly not desperately unhappy. We have a new owner, manager, staff and someone prepared to finance us ... ... I'm certainly not going to let the past taint my hoped for the new regime.
Completely disagree with that @6inarow , but that’s ok. I can definitely see your point. But it’s not like he’s come in hoping to scrape along in league one. Us telling him we expect a plan for success is hardly going to be his Einstein moment where he realises he needs to try to be successful.
Lets be honest mate he's smart enough to realise the supporters aren't happy to be marooned in the third division ... ... if he isn't he must have been stuck on the moon for the last 5 years.
You're probably right but just in case he has been stuck on the moon, we have 2 non-executive directors who are fans of the club who would probably give him a general idea of how the fan base are feeling if he asks
Yes exactly and supporters are right to demand success. But after a period of complete disharmony and distrust between the fans and the ownership, this was a chance for a completely fresh start (even if SD and CM have hung on). Treating KLD like he might be like the previous regime before he’s had a chance to show he isn’t, just immediately creates an “us and them” between the supporters and the club that we really don’t need to exist right now. The fanbase has been so used to fighting its ownership that it’s as if we have forgotten we all want the same thing.
Sorry but they are buying in to a failing club and putting their money where their mouths are , I am sure they don’t need a tinpot army on their cases before they even get a start on the project which as we know is a big task . Let them take over and in a short time all will be revealed , I am sure they will already have short , medium, as well as long term plans in place which the club has lacked for years . The structure and infrastructure needs urgent attention and ALL supporters of the club need to be patient.
Well....im happy lads that the deals been done, im happy that a structure is taking place with young, hungry footballing people but as said I have no problem with a fans supporters group wanting him to show us what his plan is and how he's going to do it
that’s completely fair, and I agree wholeheartedly with that. I just wish they hadn’t felt the need to do it in his “welcome” statement (if they needed to do one at all), and instead could have waited for him to actually have the chance to make a statement of his own. At the moment they’re asking somebody who legally can’t talk about it what he’s going to do before he’s legally allowed to do it.
If your sure they have short, medium and long term plans all in place there shouldn't be a problem to see it
Somebody should release a NOT606 statement calling RAWA a bunch of entitled muppets and advising the club not to bother with them and just ignore their ramblings.
Sorry but I don't think that was ever on the cards with SD in charge unless someone paid what he was asking for the club - and no matter what he said publicly - I don't think that was ever gonna happen. KLD has compromised and has the majority shareholding which means that what he says goes and the dynamic duo will have no say in what occurs at the club, Donald even stated that he would "watch from afar". I don't think that any fan should be on his back, just look at what he's put in place already. Let's just see how this new way of doing things play out before we start with any demands - as a fan base, I think we owe him that
And what happens if that plan isn't acceptable top RAWA, will they demand it's changed? We all want to know what the plan is and don't need anyone to ask for us. The owners will, no doubt, inform the supporters and demonstrate their intentions with actions. In reality we have no option but to trust them to do what we, and certainly they, want which is a successful club.
Just let the lad get his feet under the table ffs. To many of our fans have PTSD in regards to Stuart Donald. This lad is on a totally different level to that nobody
Sorry I think you missed my point. I agree this is a completely fresh start. My point was that immediately demanding plans etc from the new owner before he’s even had a chance to do an interview on the website let alone a press conference, is immediately taking us back to the days or distrust, rather than using this as an opportunity to see what happens.
Surely we need to actually appoint staff, discuss things with them and formulate all these plans with the manager, decide on sales & signings and get everything into place ... then start informing the supporters.
Exactly! If they are successful, we get a decent team in a higher league playing good attractive football, KLD gets a club that's worth more than what he bought it for - a win, win situation! However, we're at the bottom of a bloody big hill and it's going to take a while to get anywhere near the summit
Sorry but these new owners are professional business people and will not want to show their plans to all and sundry , if they give everything away they will be paying over the odds for everything .
I’d also argue that we’ve seen everything we “need” to see about his plans. Speakman, youth, analytics, data etc. Not sure what more than that we need / deserve. He’d be foolish as hell to start putting timescales on things - just look at what happened during the takeover process
Im sure all this will happen.....but, as said....'Welcome to the club but we are not going to accept any bullshit like the last lot' has got to be good thing as far as im concerned, this is the point I'm basically making
