Great result for West Brom (who I have a bit of a soft spot for) and Big Sam.

Allardyce has honed his craft after many years of hard work. I remember listening to interviews when he was here. Didn't get excited if we lost, said he had identified where we were going wrong and him and the players would work on it on the training ground until they got it right. Organisation, man management he has got the lot. Was gutted when we lost him to England.

This was my thought, I've never wanted to be a member of any 'fan' group.
Each to their own, but aren't we all members of a fan group already.

100% this. It's amazing how our stinky mates up the road differ from us in so many ways. There will be NO funeral procession if the name of our stadium is changed

The statement will have been written and agreed upon by the committee members of RAWA. They know they don't speak for all the the support, but in theory they speak for the members of RAWA, and if the members think they're saying a load of stuff they don't agree with then they can vote them out at the next AGM. I know it sounds a bit corporate but that's how it's got to work really, they couldn't canvass members every time and get full agreement from all before releasing anything. I can see why some have an issue with it, but as I posted yesterday there was a lot of welcoming stuff there as well. Things like it being a "strong statement" are the words of the echo, RAWA don't consider it a strong statement at all. It's mainly a welcome, just with a bit of an acknowledgment that people won't want us to seem naive. In practice obviously the new regime will get support from all the supporter groups. If they started liking the sound of their own voices, or thinking they should be involved in every aspect of the club I'd be the first to leave. It won't happen.

To be fair, I'd be against a stadium name change if we still played at roker Park. Stadium of light is a terrible name. Wouldnt mind it changing.

The statement should therefore state clearly that it is from the committee of RAWA and not a statement on behalf of it's members or the wider fan base.

How many are on the committee? 8? 10?

Sadly, it's the 'clear message' that's been picked up on by the media which will be picked up by other media ...

... it doesn't matter which way you look at it, the message was poorly worded and total unnecessary.

There was no need to issue any statement whatsoever tbh.

What I'd like to know is this, how have RAWA made it clear what they want and who to?

"RAWA say they will offer him the ‘warmest of welcomes’ but have made it quite clear supporters will want to see ‘evidence of an assured plan of long-term progression. Nevertheless, we hope to meet with him soon, where we will do our bit to help him understand the demands of our fans."

What exactly are the demands of the fans?

the problem with waiting for an AGM to rein in people who are out of order, is the time frame, they can potentially cause lots of trouble between AGMs. it all seems a bit elitist to me, and whereas i agree that they can't be expected to consult their entire membership on every subject, I'd be interested to know how many people they are directly representing with this statement. Certainly not me, and I am a member of RAWA.

Are we 100% sure that there are no Mags among RAWA? The way they worded it if I were KLD I’d wonder what the hell was the matter with our fans.

KLD has used 'substantial funds' to buy the club, installed Speakman, Johnson and sealed the deal in time for the transfer window ...

... the last thing he'll want to see is a group of supporters thinking they know better than him.

I'm a member of RAWA and far from happy with the content and wording of the statement, certainly not my views.

There's 5 on the committee. I do take your point but it's similar (albeit much less important of course, just in terms of process) to having an MP. They don't always have to preface statements by saying they aren't speaking for every constituent, it's taken as read. And if people think they're ****e and not representing them they can vote them out, hell they can even decide to stand themselves, same thing here.

Exactly. It is ridiculously presumptions. Who the hell they think they are to issue a piece such as that I cannot begin to guess.

It is as if they think that this takeover somehow depends on their blessing. It doesn't, and the thing sounds entitled and arrogant.

If they didn't want their message to sound that way, they should either get some help with it's writing or confine themselves to a simple, encouraging welcome, such as all supporters will be giving.

They speak for themselves only, and not very well.

Genuinely I'm not sure! I'm assuming the "demands" (probably not the right word to be fair) will involve not selling all the academy kids before their balls drop, having some sort of sensible structure rather than employing people from Eastleigh (which obviously they're well on with) and generally not putting the clubs future at risk. All stuff that there's not much chance of them doing! But that's just my take on it, I might ask them for clarity on it because quite a few aren't happy about the wording
