Well played José Mourinho. Nice little present for your mate Nuno, which has cost me a absolute packet today.
Wolves deserved that. Utterly pathetic from Mourinho to try and defend for 88 minutes like that. Just like the Palace match. How much did you some of you lot pay for ST's again? Bet you're almost grateful for covid refunds
I never want us to lose but we're playing to our weaknesses not our strengths. That's ****ing nuts. We score one and then try and defend for 70+ minutes ...despite the fact that we can't defend set pieces and have a bunch of defenders who all have a mistake in them? Just **** off!
I just don't want to see that kind of play rewarded. We are not Burnley FFS. No offence to Burnley they play to their strengths
I don't like it but the main problem is we're no bloody good at it...no bloody good at all. We all knew that Wolves would get at least one...probably from a dead ball situation. If this is the best Mourinho's got, then he should **** off now.
You know what's pissing me off the most? If we tried to kill off the West Scam match with a fourth goal early in the second half, we wouldn't be playing like we are now But because we pissed away a 3-0 lead in that one due to sitting back for 60+ minutes, with our right flank being targeted, that's had the knock-on effect of our approach being far too cautious while also letting other teams know we have a weakness on our right flank - and this sitting back idiocy is letting teams learn that for themselves, if they weren't already fully aware of it by now
Not here to gloat, not here to say "I told you so". Just here to reiterate what I said over a year ago now: Jose Mourinho is finished, and has been for years. Having watched the Amazon documentary, I warmed to Jose the character. But Jose the tactician? Well I think we can all see how that's going. The joy of watching Spurs has completely gone, for me. We are lucky that there are no fans witnessing the steady demise of our football club into a Graham-esque style of football. I stood by, laughing, while our fanbase creamed itself when we topped the league for a few weeks. Talking us up as title contenders?! Pull the other one. Sad thing is, we could be. Utilising Aurier/Reguilon like we used Walker/Rose, allowing Tanguy a free role instead of insisting he becomes a box to box midfielder, play Gio much, much further up the pitch, pin teams back with our FBs and the pace of Son/Stevie and stop asking Kane to play 3 roles at once. It honestly isn't rocket science. And the saddest thing is how Jose explicitly promised he would stay loyal to the club's traditions. Ha. All that took to crumble was the 3 late goals against West Ham. He did exactly the same thing at Chelsea when we tanked them 5-3. They were flying at the top of the league, but that game haunted him, until he changed their entire way of playing, pissed off key players in the process, lost the changing room, started picking scapegoats for the team's problems (at them it was that physio; ours seems to be Dele Alli), and it all unravelled from there. There used to be a football club over there. Oh and happy new year guys, hope you're all keeping well
Southampton, Newcastle, West Ham, Palace, Liverpool and Wolves have all scored late on against us...as in the last 7 or 8 minutes. All but Palace have scored in the last 5 minutes. That's 40% of our games...someone needs to tell JM that the tactic of defending a lead ain't working. 9 points thrown away ... in just 15 games this season... so far
I don't get to see many games live (time difference) , but was looking forward to this as we have a good record at Wolves. But reiterating what others have said complete waste of a talented team. Score early try for a second and then shut up shop, not for 89 mins. Very disappointed in Jose, we have been found out yet again by our opposition. Wait long enough and Spurs will gift you a winner or equaliser through lack of ambition. Of course I want us to win silverware but the league is the bread and butter and he's chucking away all the goodwill with this crap! Don't know if I will get up early again if this is what I see.
Wolves set pieces today were terrible.............until they hit one decent one. Hey, not all bad. 'pool drew at home to WBA Sam Allardyce ball
After that mauling Jose pulled in the decent attacking play that had characterised Chelsky up to that point, and went scaredy-cat.
They did. But consider this: Goals scored before and including that game = 44 in 20 games. Goals scored after that game = 29 in 18 games. The shift in tactics was clear.
Getting real tired of seeing the Reddit crowd saying variants on "You're overreacting to just two matches" No, we're not Because it's not a couple of games, it's now four games, and pretending the Palace match didn't happen to try and find positives in the Saltypool/Leicester matches is a bit bloody difficult after Palace II: This Time It's Wolves
I don't want to be always moaning about the same thing so I try and talk about positives where I can but sometimes it's worth having a moan. I remember looking at the fixtures after the Liverpool loss to see when we'd play some decent football. I saw Leicester and Wolves knew we'd be in for more of the same, after games against the rest of the big 6. Add in Everton and Villa, due to their position and that's half our games this season which are essentially write-offs so far as entertainment is concerned. If I didn't watch the games where it "worked", I'd have enjoyed seeing the result at the end as much as I did watching it. That's all there is to the games. Burnley play like this, it's not hard to do, it's just ****. Burnley are at least battling the odds, they have good reason to play like that. Ancelotti was the man I wanted if we weren't going to risk it on another young, exciting manager like Poch. Currently Everton are above us with a much worse squad. Weirdly, I'm in the same spot as the fans that like Jose. Hoping we get a trophy to make this period even faintly worthwhile.
Its hard work watching us - we are playing dull lifeless football and getting dull lifeless results. Wolves deserved at least a draw because they tried to play some football that was worth watching. Looks like we will putting all our eggs into the Carabao Cup and Europa league pots now, and even then if we can't hold a lead how are we going to win knock out cup ties against half decent opposition. A couple of things that come out of todays match. Ben Davies is a very good defender so much better than Sanchez, shame it was Bens man who scored their goal because up to that moment he was excellent. Why is Tanguy Ndombele still so unfit, our best player today no question but if he cant ever play 90 minutes does he have a future in this league? 2 winnable home games coming up I hope that Jose uses the squad properly and plays to win! But I have my doubts Pissed off from Ashford!!
