1) font and fount can both be used in the phrase you cite. 2) font had, and has, another life related to church settings, e.g as in "baptismal font", and was taken over from this Late Latin use of fons, fountain. 3) fount came to English through the Old French font, derived from the same Latin word. I assume someone else can explain the vowel change. I would use the speliing font, but I haven't a clue whether this preference is general in AE.
The key to writing on this or any other forum is, you should make the point you want to make in a manner that is understandable to others. The finer points of spelling, punctuation, etc, can be safely left to 'Disgruntled of Tunbridge Wells on Radio 4' Boring people to death is hopefully NOT what this Spurs forum is about.
I think the OP was only trying to start a thread about Spurs, which as there is no game this weekend is a reasonable thing to do.Things do get a little quiet when we have an International break.
I was glad to see another name that I recognised, Spur-adic, it'd be a shame if you left. As Spurf said, we've got a good collection of users here and get some good debate going, although with no game at the weekend it gets a bit quieter.
Spurf, Freund Good to hear from you guys. Perhaps i'm in a bit of a hot headed mood today, but when people delight in trying to educate others and deriding peoples choice of article (which was a theme of theirs on 606) then it does get annoying. That said live and let live and i shall ignore said poster from now on. By the way, does anyone know why i can only post in advanced rather than quick? I'm guessing compatibility issues with works system?
I rest my case, a decent poster from beeb, jumped on like a bacon butty seller in a mosque...why? Is this how we treat Newbie's?
Can't we all just get along with each other. There are plenty of gooners and other idiots to argue with before we turn on each other.
I only hope Harry takes a long term view of things rather than getting sucked into the highs of our current form! Harry himself has said that Vdv vs Defoe is a decision he will need to make so based on VdVs apparent attitude at times (tunnel stomps etc) i merely voiced an opinion that Harry has some difficulties coming up in order to keep a happy squad. Pav can do one though!
Forgive me but this is October and I think you'll find that is now October, some 8 months later so hardly a newbie. - Mr Grammar. PLEASE TRANSLATE
As King says, can we have a bit of respect between fellow Spurs fans on here, please? Feel free to disagree with what other people think or suggest, but do so with a bit of civility. This forum is supposed to be a pleasure, not a chore.
Ensil, you are on the mental ignore list not the compute ignore list as i thought that would make conversations you might be involved in weird. Apology accepted and returned for my reply. Lets move on.
How many times do I have to say it, don't get clever with me Ens, what does it say under his name?, how many posts? Its an article, if you don't like it, ignore it.

(3)do us fans have to put up with reading an article in the press or see a video interview on the TV every week from Redknapp talking about issues that should stay behind closed doors? (4) I want really football news, not crap that is only designed for his own agenda. It's getting ridiculous! 1 - When did Modric join Chelsea? The next time someone makes an error you'd do well to remember this sentence of yours..."it would be obvious to almost anyone that I can count and that a mistake (error, typo, carelessness, failure to check) took place in my post."
Yep, and you know it. Just move on Ens, unless the typo is an amusing one worth pointing out...just let it go.
