A shame but no surprise considering covid is rife through the club. Hopefully gives injured players that little bit more time to come back and by the time we have all these games to play our squad will feel alot bigger and able to cope!
After the rain last night I wouldn’t be surprised if it had been called off anyway- regardless of our situation with Covid
If this is off on the 29th. Can’t see the Northampton game going ahead on the 2nd. Bit if a pain but With the AOL closed and no proper training think it would be better to cancel all games until Fleetwood on 9th would at least give us the chance for LJ to get some proper training sessions in. Anyone know when the AOL is due to open again
Lets hope when we get back the players are fit. Fatigue really gets to you. Newcastle have struggled.
This could well be an issue. Mate I’ve been helping out in Northumberland lately is about 10 years younger than me fit as a lop marathon and fell runner Caught COVID in Oct Slowly getting better but still can’t run more than about a mile without being completely knackered Also looking at the number of games off yesterday even if we say we have a fit squad we may have no one to play. Think by mid jan we will be seeing more games off than are on. Not sure what the EFL can do but Going to get very messy
Cheers that’s better than I thought. But if we’ve called off the game on 29th LJ isn’t going to have much of a squad to work with for a while
Think he said a few of the players were due out of isolation either 28th or 29th - guess thats why its been postponed. Hopefully we'll have a decent squad available for the 2nd. If the players havent been training for a few weeks we could be struggling for general fitness throughout the squad.
I am starting to think the season is in danger of not being completed again. They wont want the season overrunning with the Euros this summer.
I was expecting this mind. Just hope we get enough players back so we don't have to postpone any more games. It's a tight schedule as it is and now we're going to have to fit four games in somewhere, going to be some weeks where we have three matches to play and that is going to be hard work. At least if the season goes to total **** we are going to be in a position to ride it out and I'm not convinced that is the case for a lot of clubs.
This is great news for getting everyone back fit and then playing these games with hopefully some good new signings involved
I got covid early November I think. I must have had the most mildest version of it. Slight cough, that's all. My recovery from it is worse. My lung capacity has been hit. Out of breath going up the stairs and I generally feel knackered. If it has that effect on a fat lazy bastard like me, God knows how long a footballer takes to get back to full tip top match fitness.
