It's official then. Boris has saved the country single-handed and restored the Tory party's fortunes at the same time. 2024 election already in the bag. By Jingo, chaps. The future looks bright. Trust I don't need to write this in blue FFS
He's helped students avoid difficult educational choices by removing the Erasmus overseas option. Similar for UK based engineers and designers former colleagues of mine who don't have to choose which EU country to pursue their careers. "Candidates must have the right to reside and work in the EU" on many job site descriptions Whatafuckingtriumph!
But I don’t think anyone does want to hear that the death penalty is likely to be reintroduced. All Badger is doing is passing on some information he heard, which is up to anyone on here to debate, rather than assign motives to the person passing the information.
I don’t see what he says because he is on ignore. The only person I have ever done that to and I have done it twice to him.
Billy for ****’s sake leave it. You are deliberately trying to wind me up and I am just not in the mood.
Billy, you seem to be under completely the wrong impression of what this forum actually is. When it first started the idea was to recreate the atmosphere of a pub, with people talking about football and other sports, and over the years other off-topic subjects have gradually come in, particularly on the Saints board. These off-topic threads can be likened to rooms in the pub if you like, where topics are discussed which, if you’re not interested, you can simply avoid. The premise over all of this is that people can say what they want but that as long as arguments don’t get personal they can be as heated as you like. Every match thread and the other football threads offer myriad examples of this. The Politics thread was always going to be controversial, but the point of it was to keep talk of politics off the other threads. As with all other threads people are allowed to post things gleaned from other sources, and other people are allowed to debate the merits of what has been posted. What is not allowed is personal attacks on other members. If anyone has attacked you I apologise on their behalf, but you are not allowed to respond. On your point about the way things are posted, well all I can say is that anything posted anywhere on this forum might be fact or it might be complete bullshit. On the Patel death penalty thing, she has form in this area, and I watched Ian Hislop demolishing her stance on capital punishment on Question Time a while back. So while I agree Badger’s post might be incorrect, no one who knows anything about Priti Patel should be surprised if it turns out to be true. That explains my comment about Badger’s post which you took exception to. By the way, I misunderstood your final post last night, which reads as though you were leaving the forum again, and that my reluctance to engage with you on Boxing Day evening was somehow responsible. I’m glad I was mistaken, as we all need people who have views different from our own to keep us questioning ourselves. All the best to you, but please don’t attack other members personally!
I don’t know what the “ignored member” is saying, and I really don’t want to know which is why he will remain ignored. I have no worries about highlighting the possibility that the Secretary of State may have started procedures to reinstate the death penalty, as all decent human beings should be concerned about this. If someone finds my posting that to be more offensive than the claim the post alleges, then I am right to ignore that person.
