Don't get one from NHS and unless I ask for one don't even get one at local Tescos and papershop both of which are uk owned and anyway there are plenty of British concerns that try to kep to cash transactions without a company registered receipt.
"Free movement" of the type enshrined within the EU has no limits or qualification requirements. Theoretically, a hundred million people could turn up in Germany next year, or could have done here before we exited. Many did so, and it was in effect at times, importing poverty. Whatever trade deal is reached with anyone, it will not include this type of automatic right, though it could make it easier for many, both ways But the unconditional and universal right to move inside the EU is so inimical to what the idea of a country is supposed to mean it is a miracle that it has not yet caused more horror than it already has, but with one of the main destinations now cut off for many, it no doubt will. There is nothing wrong with immigration, and there is nothing wrong with a country having a points based immigration system either. Qualified medical professionals for instance will still be able to come and work here, ( though there is a further moral dimension to this argument, especially within the EU, where the no questions asked flood away of skilled, educated, young and energetic people among others, from what are often poorer countries anyway, makes more of the same inevitable) The whole matter turns on whether or not a country has the right to make it's own laws in this regard - and of course all others. In the EU we do not. Outside of it we do.
RAWA say they will offer him the ‘warmest of welcomes’ but have made it quite clear supporters will want to see ‘evidence of an assured plan of long-term progression’, especially given the long-held frustrations of fans under the Stewart Donald era. Arseholes he’s not even started yet Let them get on with the job
The point I was making was the irony of leaving Europe because of free movement but accepting it as part off the Canada/Aus/NZ deal which sounds exactly the same as the EU one as they are using the term "Free Movement".
We have had power to control immigration for years but have chosen not to. We still won’t but will pretend we do for political reasons. https://ukandeu.ac.uk/we-can-control-eu-migration-we-just-havent-done-it/
My one wish is to go to a European game to watch SAFC away I think I may have to pass that on to my Boys and their sons and daughters
Bollocks, people need to get off their high horse now and let the new regime just get on with the job. I don't want to hear endless promises, I've heard them all a hundred times before. Nor do I want to see a litany of 'expert' analysis from forum accountants, planners and football startegists. I, for one, just want to support my club, have a drink with the lads and shout my head off at every goal.
I've dreamed about Sunderland being well managed. For me more important than a flash in the pan big win, even against the mags. Oh, that hurt to write that. Success starts at the top with a vision and commitment, and for too long our owners have been playing at being a top football club. The sounds coming out of the new owners are very encouraging ... but we have been here before.
Whilst I dont disagree with having a fans group, I believe they are soon to become a trust with cash changing hands from the members to the trust. Once that happens there is a decent chance things could get messy. Nothing to do with the the people who are members or who are on the 'board' of RAWA but once money changes hands and people don't get their own way it tends to get messy. It doesn't matter if it's broadband, gas, electric, water, mobile phone, Amazon prime or whatever - once the green stuff gets involved... If I were them I would register [email protected] as an email address now. Really hope they do a good job though, just a bit worried when statements come out saying 'fans want X, Y and , Z' when they haven't actually been asked.
Any fans group, fanzine, forum needs to remember they don't speak for all of our supporters ... .... please don't claim that you do.
The supporters groups puzzle me if I am honest. No doubt they started with good intentions but it seems, to me at least, they feel they want more influence over the club which I dont want to see. I actually hope the new owner is less communicative than Donald and co. I would happily hear only from Johnson so he can explain footy stuff. Shareholdings, accounts and any other legal or corporate governance stuff can be published according to rules of accountable bodies, and not discussed at public fan meetings etc. I am old school so like others want my club to play footy matches so I can get together with the lads and have a cracking day. I dont want or expect to have any influence over the inner workings of the club - that is for the owner who invests his money and the directors he appoints frankly. Enough in life to occupy my limited brain...
You are conflating two completely different things, the EU freedom of movement and residence directive has nothing to do with each member countries immigration policy and only applies to the citizens of other EU countries. EU countries can and do make their own laws on immigration.
I was told he visited, and posted that, but it must have been quite clandestine as there were no photos, etc. However, I don't believe anyone would fork out multi-millions on something they've never seen. He's a serious man and I'm sure he's been to the SOL and AOL.
Aye thats my thought. You wouldn't purchase a club without looking at the facilities and infrastructure. Interesting fella. Cheers
This is the crux of it IMO. I love the podcasts and listening to other points of view from the fan groups, but I hate it when others speak for me, especially when I haven't been asked my opinion on the subject. Ha'way Man City
