Slight aside. Mrs Remote just had a call off our daughter. Hunt sabateurs (lots of hunts in Cheshire on a boxing day) screaming at my daughter to stop worrying the sheep in the field she was in. The irony? They were her sheep and they weren't worried. As we checked a couple fields this morning as part of our twice weekly checks, she was checking the rest. Ignorant tw@ts with nothing better to do. Comes to something when you can't go about your daily business without some @rses interfering.
Hmm, didnt last long. Just need both sides to shut up shop now. The points in the prediction league wouldnt go amis.
They look a completely different side 2nd half. We are in trouble here. Vaulks needs to come off. Hes done his job with the 60 yard goal.
Best side ive seen down here by a mile this season on their 2nd half so far. We are badly missing Moore.
Think the issues stretch a bit further than us missing our lump of a striker Hilts. The style, our manager and ownership decisions are three that come straight to mind
Lifeline. They should be out of sight. Smithies has had a mare today. Shocking from Glatzel to lose the ball in a great position. Id put Benkovic up front or in defence and Morrison up top.
Bacuna and Smithies had a terrible 2nd half. Apart from his goals Vaulks was poor, Ralls not much better. City’s CM is not good enough in this league. Scoreline flattered City. City have shown again they are streets behind the footballing teams in this league. I’ve lost interest in the season TBH, but until there’s a more modern footballing philosophy at the club and we have players with the basic skills and abilities and some flair, rather than a dinosaur management and pedestrian journeymen players, I’ll just watch the games expecting not a lot.
Bacuna done twice but in fairness to him he had no cover at all. Not sure if their guy could go both inside or out but if Bacuna showing him inside you would expect the winger or midfield in front to get in a challenge. Very poor day for Smithies and he has not been at his best lately. A chance for Phillips next week?
Glatzel was pathetic - full stop. Hardly won a ball all afternoon and when he did he lost it. Hilts - you've been right all along about him. He was outmuscled and can't hold the ball up to bring others in. He took a useless distance strike on through frustration when Wilson was inside him unmarked on the edge of the box. Not just him though - Bacuna was skinned a few times by Canos and Smithies had the worst game since he's been at the club. Hoilett had the best game he's had for a while but Ojo is so slow with the ball - no pace at all. Once again, midfield is an unmitigated disaster against class oposition. You can crunch your way through some games but not against sides like Brentford and Norwich. We are classless and Wilson must be wondering what he's doing here.
We need to use the next window to prepare in advance for next season. It will be part of the job to move players on who are not up to it or are ageing and need replacing. I wouldnt drop Smithies after one poor game though.
Looks like we’re all singing from the same sheet here. So if it’s so obvious to us how can’t our board see what’s so obvious? That’s a rhetorical question.
It again highlights the club's abject failure to sign another proper right back. Bacuna has his failings but he's not being played in his position. Brentford are the first team to really highlight this and put Bacuna under pressure. They upped their tempo and game second half and we had no answer.
Tan is cutting his losses. Wont be investing anything. I dont blame him. Glatzel and Flint cost around £10m. Even getting them off the books for nothing to free up wages would be a bonus.
I have nothing to contribute that hasn't already been said time and time again this season. We are not a modern, footballing club and to fix that, we need changes in the board that supports Tan. I don't think that will happen so I guess we're back to blind support for Cardiff City. Bloooooooobirds!
