I think Harry Redknapp is a bit over-rated. He's done well at a few teams but he also spent a lot of money in doing so.

I quite like Tottenham from a neutral point of view and I'd like to see them do better than they did last season, the squad they have is one of the best in the PL and they should really be competing for the title wih the likes of Chelsea and the Manchester clubs. Last season Harry spent the whole year shoehorning Van Der Vaart into his team at the expense of playing with two proper strikers, meaning Defoe, one of the country's most talented strikers, was sat on the bench all year and it didn't work. He seems to have worked it out now and started playing a really dangerous looking team, but I've been saying he should do that for about a year now...

Arry is the only serious English option, but the FA will be very nervous of the tax-evasion case hanging over him.

I agree with that. However, there is an English manager with a better pedigree of European and world football - Woy Hodgson. I think what happened at Liverpool would put the FA (and most people) off appointing him

It couldn't be anyone but Harry. It wouldn't surprise me though if he turned it down and Stuart Pearce ended up with the job. <doh>

That he is the only viable contender says a lot about the state of English football. Purely on footballing terms, yes i like the way he wants to play football. Off the pitch, he is everything wrong with our game, as bent as fuk. Dodgy deals everywhere. How has an average football manager has lived in one of the most exclusive places in the country for the last god knows how many years, through using agents to feather his nest. Bent C***.

Good question, I think Hodgson would be a better option based on what he has done on much smaller budgets than Harry. But even he wouldn't excite me that much. I don't really get the obsession with why it has to be an English manager. Mourinho would be the best option and he'd be interested, if he could win La Liga first.
