During the warm up before Everton game some Liverpool players were wearing white shirt with Liverpool United on it.My friend watching with me who is a fan of Arsenal me has Liverpool Fc become Liverpool United.? Do you thing Liverpool United would be a better name for Liverpool FC.? Your comments please.
I agree, Liverpool do this sort of thing every so often and are one of the most active clubs in the community. They liase with community officer and ex red Brian Hall on a regular basis.
only an arsenal fan would ask something like that.... its like asking about carragher painting his face blue for the blue spetember.
Liverpool United could be a way of seeing off Liverpool reserve team.. I mean Liverpool taking over Everton.
United is a very common name in the world of football. And also its far better to be named after the city in which you play rather than the small minded club that had first dibs on the name 'Liverpool' but chose a district of the city as its name. Ok Mally, come out come out wherever you are?
Exactly. Everton don't play their football in Everton Valley, so why did they choose the name Everton? They as you said had first dibs on the name ''Liverpool'' so why didn't they take it. They were called St Domingos named after the Methodist church in the area. So they could easily have took the City name instead of the district name. Liverpool FC couldn't call themselves Walton as there were two clubs called Higher and Lower Walton.
