Image the scenes if we start doing well and Sky and talkSPORT find us worthy of getting a mention again..... not.
These types crop up now again, only ever posting on one subject or thread. There's never a joke, posts on match threads, reminiscences of past games or stories about mates. It's just a totally relentless tirade of negativity ... ... you never get optimists who are totally obsessed, on one thread, or incapable of entertaining a different point of view. That's quite ironic as the doom-boys inevitably accuse everyone else of never considering an alternate opinion.
I don’t mind Canadians, Aussies and Kiwis coming here. I doubt they’ll turn up In tracksuits and set up a car wash.
Best car wash round here mate wash polish and dry £5.00 come on I always give them a tenner and I get a free car air freshener.
To be fair mate I have no problem who comes in the country and I don’t think many other people do as long as they are not illegal and graft like the rest of us. Think I answered the wrong post I am on that new whisky called the one Christ it’s strong.
I can't wait to hear more about their plans, the industry leading development, science, analysis etc. I'm trying not to get carried away, but it really does seem like the root and branch rebuild that we desperately needed
I'll have a hard job going anywhere abroad on holiday as I don't have a passport, have never had one, and have no intention of getting one. Never left these sceptered isles yet and have no intention of ever doing so either.
I have no problem anyone coming it just seems having used the argument against free movement as one of the main planks of the Brexit movement to then be advocating exactly that with another group seems hypocritical. Many of the Europeans who came are medical practitioners among other professionals and even if they set up car washes what is the problem, they are earning and contributing to the economy.
I found the underlined bit really interesting. We all thought that KLD brought Speakman to the club rather than Donald but to actually pick him out and say "that's our man" shows that he's really thought how the club is to move forward. By all accounts Speakman was only in charge of the academy side rather than the whole club, KLD has put a lot of faith in him. Here's hoping that the plans he has comes off, if they do, the future is looking really exciting
I've always thought that we landed on our feet with the SOL. Getting it in the location we've got, with the capacity to expand and develop, basically right in the city centre. It's easy to get to via metro, bus, car, walking and only a few minutes walk over the bridge from the city centre. I'm willing to bet that if we'd stayed at Roker, we'd be on about relocating to Vaux now. I'd went over to Nissan when we were talking about moving to there during the old Cowies International football festival for the under 21s (about 1993 or 94), and afterwards wasn't in favour of moving there. It really wasn't a great choice of location, would have been pretty soleless most of the time and really trashy to get to and from unless you had a car. The current site is pretty much perfect for us. Where the Mags are concerned, they should have moved in the 70s or 80s, but that deal suited them then. It doesn't now, the site is cramped, the East stand backs onto listed buildings, so that can't be expanded. The Gallowgate backs onto a road with a metro station next to it, so that's hemmed in, so developing the ground is difficult and expensive. And in the ladst 30 years other potential central sites where they could have looked to relocate to have been developed (think of the old Newcastle brewery site for example). They've been blocked from using the town Moor as a site, so really the only options are sites out of the centre, probably the easiest would be Kingston Park, but that would kill off the "cathedral on the hill" bullshit they come out with and would probably be much more arkward for fans, particularly visitors, to get to. As it is, they're pretty much stuck where they are, and I've heard from a few people that it needs some major renovation work carrying out (concrete cancer in the Milburn stand is one thing I've heard). Poor dears!
