Boxing day, and finally get to crack open the vinyl....oh where to start? Easy - straight in for a bit of Ladies and Gentlemen We're Floating In Space - epic album, and one of the best of the 90s, even beating OK Computer to album of the year in 97. Dark, atmospheric, soulful, lyrics of a tortured mind desperately trying to come to terms with seperation (if you don't know the story, singer/writer Jason Pierce was going out with the keyboard player of the band, and she was having an affair with Richard Ashcrost of The Verve and secretly married him! What a bitch!)

Next on to Songs in A&E, about 10 years after Ladies & Gentlemen....after Pierce had been hospitalized for a long spell and nearly died of pneumomia!

Want this one played at my funeral - not that I'm planning that just yet!
