    In fairness, why should Swantastic put his hand in pocket? He is not a shareholder.

    The shareholders have the potential risks and rewards of ownership - if Swantastic put his hand in his pocket, it would be a donation - if the shareholders put their hands in their pockets they would have the potential of seeing the value of their investment increase (as well as the attendant potential downside risk).

    As someone who once (rather recklessly or stupidly - or both) gave a personal guarantee to a bank for c£60k to cover part of an overdraft facility of a Sports Team (a company that I was not a shareholder in) I would not expect or recommend that Swantastic or anyone either inject cash or do as I did.

    Thankfully, I never needed to honour/fulfill my potential obligation - but I did have a few sleepless nights (<steam>) until the refinancing came through.

    Merry Christmas once again Vetch - and as you’ve written previously it’s their (the Americans) Club and they can do as they please - we are mere customers / supporters.
