Irishman Dave McBryan was crowned 2020 Mastermind winner last night.

The 46-year-old, who lives in Edinburgh, Scotland with his wife Lindsay, won the final episode of the current series on BBC Two.

Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Mr McBryan said the competition was a "pretty nerve-wracking affair" and he thought he had thrown it away, after making a few silly mistakes during the final.

This isn't a company purchase, you're not an asset of the Louis Dreyfus group, this is a private purchase by her son, who is 21 years old. You're aware that Magarita the mother who controls this trust fund has deep disputes with many people involved in this company and the Dreyfus family? Yes?

You're aware that Margarita is selling the private interests that the family have been investing in for years, such as in French football? Yes? They could have bought Sunderland 3 times over if they had the wealth you are suggesting, the son has done this off his own back, it's his own private venture.

I'll cry my eyes out, when Newcastle are in League One, and Sunderland are winning the Champions League, as of right now - a league one side has received investment, from a family worth less than the Salford City owner Peter Lim.

 

Some reports have suggested that Kyril has a trust fund worth in excess of $2billion.

How much of that will trickle through to Sunderland remains to be seen.

 

This trust fund will be heavily padded with shares of the company, which is pretty normal.

It's a good day for them.... They've definitely got a rich enough owner to get back in the premier league over time, but it won't be easy.
