Thinking that they are bigger than the team? Recently weâve had Jermaine Defoe whinging about not being picked much last season when in truth he was awful and didnât dserve to be. Now we have rumblings from Harry that itâs a straight choice between Rafa and Defoe for the slot along Adebayor because VdV doesnât like his role on the left. It seems that whichever one of these loses out will (if not rotated well) will pull a sulk and start to make noises about leaving in the next window. Pav is also moaning about a lack of playing time and leaving in January but to be honest, good riddence which if anyone watched him against Shamrock will probably agree. The question is, how do we keep our players happy in the way SAF does it at utd? And is it possible at Spurs, seeing how our players think they are bigger than the club? (it would appear)
Find it quite amazing that they moan about sitting on a bench and picking up £50k/£60k a week for it. But in seriousness, players like Defoe will still get 30+ games even if not first choice, the amount games we (should) have with Prem, Europa and FA Cup plus injuries throughout, there's plenty of opportunities. Plus the fact that when the likes of JD/ Rafa etc are on the bench, they'll more than likely feature at some point in a match.
Harry does need to rotate more to keep people in form, otherwise he forces the Pav situation (and Defoe last year) where players are rubbish when they do get called up because they have no confidence. SAF does rotate a lot, but the weaker members of his squad are better than ours. The key to keeping squad players happy is that they will have a better chance of a medal or CL football at Spurs rather than anywhere else. Where would say Defoe or Lennon go were they would be automatic selections and have a good chance of winning something. Surely a chance of winning a medal or occassional appearances in the CL is better than playing every week for Sunderland or the like?
i'd rather them complain than happily sit on the bench,it keeps everybody on thier toes knowing someone is ready to take thier place
Harry's never been discreet about his views of his players, maybe they feel that they have licence to do the same about him?
As has been said, instead of moaning what about enjoying our great football. What is it about some of our posters ... As has also been said, Harry likes to air his views, fair play to the players who give their views too, as long as they're reasonable. There really is an over-reaction to some of these player comments by some of our fans. I'm sure Harry can live with the situation a lot better than some of our more sensitive fans. The media play these stories up to get certain supporters in a froth over nothing.
Piskie, it really is hilarious how some fans, not just on here, get worked up about what aren't even storms in a teacup, more like a gentle breeze.
I find it equally amazing that supporters (?) of our club continually find something to moan about rather than enjoy the position we are in, the results we have achieved and the fact that for a change our future is looking promising. To be honest thats a typical comment from someone who delights in putting themselves forward as some sort of intelligent font of all knowledge on a random internet site when in truth he's a boring odious little prick. Far from moaning, i was simply airing views based on what is currently in the media ref Spurs. I thought this was the site where we could talk about anything without self appointed 'guru's' from making digs. You were a boring 'spell checker' on 606 and you're just as much of a cock on here so ill bid you goodbye and let you enjoy your self importance because quite frankly i cant be bothered with intollerable morons like you!
I think we are so used to having a moan about the team- so and so not playing well etc, team not winning games they should have won. Anyway I'm sure you get my drift. I for one are feeling exhilarated at how we are going and long may it continue.COYS!
Spur-Adic The more successful Spurs become the less likely players will moan about their lot, but this is one of the most difficult problems for a manager. It's why it's important IMO that we have a good run in the cup competitions making it easier to give the whole squad game time enabling them to feel part of the 'team'.
You do realise that there is a whole facebook Phenomenon that everytime someone acts like a pedantic twat they are branded an Ensil! Probably a compliment to you
Or maybe the spelling mistake was a deliberate trap that the internet spelling teacher walked right into! Think before you comment in future please!
Mr English Teacher, Please tell me how stating i cannot be bothered with internet morons such as you consitutes not making comment of reference to your snide pathetic posts? Yours, Mr I Spell Poorly
And to clarify, i meant that i cant be bothered with this site if people like you simply wish to put people down for voicing opinions which is what you did constantly on 606! Can someone point me in the direction of account removal/deletion? P-Ensil?
now we know that its not just the one comment dont we, there are reems of people you've mocked, irritated or been rude to so dont give me that. Thanks for the ignore button advice, really though i'd prefer to delete my account
We get the same on our board. The Metro tried to cook up a story about Szczseny wanting to go to Barca Until Szczesny himself tweeted that it was a load of bollocks. Usually I can't stand players tweeting their every thought, but this one was a classic
It's your choice Spur-adic but I would just like to point out that there are lots of good posters on here and we have some decent debates. You are very welcome to join these, it would be a little sad to delete your a/c just because of a dislike for one poster. The ignore button is there for just such occasions.
