    QPR v Swansea City

    Competition - Sky Bet Championship
    Venue - Loftus Road
    Date - Boxing Day
    Kick off - 3pm

Following their workmanlike victory over an in-form Barnsley, next up for Steve Cooper’s promotion chasing Swansea squad is a visit to Loftus Road to play QPR.

Last Saturday, the Swans solidified their position in the Championship play-off places with a comfortable 2-0 win over Barnsley at the Liberty Stadium.

The Welsh club was superior throughout, with Valerien Ismael's side exposed by Swansea pace out wide.

Although Barnsley dominated possession for large periods of the game they lacked quality in front of goal. Swansea manager Steve Cooper made two changes from their poor midweek showing at Derby, with Ben Cabango replacing Kyle Naughton and Yan Dhanda coming in for Korey Smith.

Swansea took the lead in the second minute when Dhanda headed into the box before Cabango's flick was drilled into the back of the net by Lowe.

Swansea's pressure finally told again in the 66th minute when Barnsley's Victor Adeboyejo failed to deal with an awkward corner from Grimes and headed the ball into the back of his own net.

The Swans are 3rd in the table, 7 points behind leaders Norwich and 2 behind Bournemouth.

On the same day, teenage substitute Anis Mehmeti's first senior goal rescued a point for Wycombe against QPR.

Rangers had looked set for their first-ever league win at Adams Park after home defender Jason McCarthy put through his own net in the first half.

But the Chairboys squandered the game's best opportunities before 19-year-old Mehmeti fired past Seny Dieng two minutes from time.

Despite Mehmeti's strike, Wycombe slipped to the foot of the table, while QPR remain in 19th place.

The Swans have played QPR on 49 previous occasions, winning 15, drawing 14 but losing 20.

In the corresponding Championship fixture last season, the Swans ran out deserved 3-1 winners:

Turning to Boxing Day, if the Swans play as they did at Pride Park then they will return to South Wales empty-handed: play like they did at Legoland, and they can repeat last season’s Championship victory (let’s forget the 5-1 defeat in the Cup <laugh>).

I’m going for a hard fought 1-0 win for the Swans<cheers>

As it is Christmas, let’s have a look again at my favourite win at Loftus Road:

    As well as:

    Merry Christmas <cheers>

Swansea City will recall Jack Evans from his loan spell with Cypriot side Pafos FC in January.

The 22-year-old midfielder has made two league appearances during his time with the club to date, having initially linked up with former Swansea academy coaches Cameron Toshack and Gary Richards in Cyprus.

Excellent foreword again Taff. Thank you.

Prediction for this one was 2-2 so I’m sticking with the away point. #COYFJBs

Swansea City head coach Steve Cooper names an unchanged starting XI for the Boxing Day clash with Queens Park Rangers.

The Swans will start the clash at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium with the same side who took on Barnsley in last weekend’s 2-0 victory at the Liberty Stadium.

Freddie Woodman is in goal with Ryan Bennett, Marc Guehi and Ben Cabango making up Swansea’s back three.

Connor Roberts and Jake Bidwell are the wing-backs, with captain Matt Grimes partnering Jay Fulton in midfield.

Yan Dhanda continues in the attacking midfield role, with Jamal Lowe and Andre Ayew up top.

The sole change to the matchday squad sees Jordon Garrick replace Liam Cullen on the bench, while the hosts include former Swan Tom Carroll in their starting line-up.

Queens Park Rangers: Seny Dieng, Todd Kane, Rob Dickie, Yoann Barbet, Niko Hamalainen, Geoff Cameron (captain), Dominic Ball, Tom Carroll, Ilias Chair, Macauley Bonne, Lydon Dykes.

Substitutes: Liam Kelly, Conor Masterson, Faysal Bettache, Albert Adomah, George Thomas, Stephen Duke-McKenna, Chris Willock, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Charlie Kelman.

Swansea City: Freddie Woodman; Ben Cabango, Ryan Bennett, Marc Guehi; Connor Roberts, Jay Fulton, Matt Grimes (captain), Jake Bidwell; Yan Dhanda; Andre Ayew, Jamal Lowe.

Substitutes: Steven Benda, Ryan Manning, Joel Latibeaudiere, Korey Smith, Kasey Palmer, Oli Cooper, Wayne Routledge, Jordon Garrick, Viktor Gyokeres.
