Why do you use the BNP denounce the St George Cross, its Englands national flag, it is probably displayed less than, the Scottish and Welsh flags, as England generally tends to use the Union flag. Because although Scotland and Wales have their own parliaments, England is governed more centrally. So when displays of independence are shown, I'd suggest that is less so from England, than the other two countries within Great Britain, an example being Nicola Sturgeon wanting Scottish Independence. It's also noticeable how criticism is never attached to the EU flag which is displayed often more than national flags, as though it is preferred in some way over national flags and certainly displayed far more dominantly. Yes, I accept their are right wing factions, but they exist throughout the world as a whole and in England are the minority, when reference is made to groups such as the BNP. Yet we choose to tar the whole of England which has to be at least 80% of the UK population with the same brush. In my view it's used as a vindictive tool against law abiding citizens who may just think differently to you and have no association whatsoever with extreme parties.

In fairness I think the BBC are just anti-everyone. They are the kid in the play ground who turns up at every argument and stirs. There's a reason why Corbyn stopped speaking to them, the unions mostly give them prepared statements rather than interviews.

Right leaning people tend to paint them as far left and left leaning tend to paint them as old school rightists. In truth is pin the BBC as a bit left of the middle and no one really seems to like them now. It's not their politics but miss that they seem to make sport in twisting stories and pushing opinions rather than just saying what happened with impartiality.

the left on twitter are indeed pedalling that line. Without sight of the deal details. Reminds me of the time Corbyn was interviewed about the WAB when he was hammering it... the interviewer, live on air then asked him at the end if he’s actually read it... and he sheepishly admitted he hadn’t. Cue deathly silence... Comedy gold that.

Starmer will vote for it which will annoy the left but.. Politically he has to. He can’t really abstain either as he will get hammered for that too. Sir Boris can then, if the deal ever gets criticised retrospectively by Labour... point to the fact the their Leader effectively signed off on it. :)

Just to be clear. A deal is because Boris is great and no deal would be because the EU are horrible? This is essentially WW3 by another name and we're the good guys I guess. Feels reasonable.

ANY deal was better than the alternative. In fairness even if the EU hadn't budged and Boris came out and said he needed to put the future of the country over his own political career ( as he'd have been lambasted for it) then I'd have respected him for it. I'm not worried about the details right now, whatever your political views I think it has to pass.

Lol, I think some our political views are slightly distanced but was amused by the bluntness of the initial response. Makes more sense to me now.

i always thought a deal would be struck. Both parties have too much to lose. I also think it will end up being a decent deal for both parties. On a personal level, no tariffs on imports and freer movement of goods will please me.
