London into tier 3 on Wednesday So much for fans back at the Valley. Enjoy it on Tuesday evening whoever is going. A last fling for what could be months
ALK Capital, an American consortium, have moved ahead of the Farnell/El Kashashy bid to buy Burnley, which is great news for Burnley fans, but bad news for wherever they go next. We will always have a bond with Burnley fans for their part in the pitch invasion which saw the demise of the Fans Sofa.
That was a tragic day, but a hilarious sight. Reminiscent of when Sean Connery's peeved ex-worshippers got their hands on the poor Gurkha chap at the end of The Man Who Would be King. Except the sofa came off even worse.
Our static midfield should be made to sit down and watch the Manu Vs Leeds game, as an education in how to look for space.
Footballing Dork of the Day ... Tom Cairney (Fulham FC) The guy parks his £220,000 Lamborghini 4x4 in a disabled parking bay every morning, while he pops into a coffee shop nearby (this is in Esher, Surrey) They've shopped him with pictures in the The Sun today. He should be ashamed of himself. Arrogant, thoughtless and selfish behaviour like this gives all footballers a bad name. I know what I'd be tempted to do if I was walking by there one morning and saw that car in that parking bay...
Ipswich Town and Millwall (Championship ) are the latest Clubs to call off their Christmas fixtures because of Coronavirus positive tests. That's 5 or 6 Clubs now in the 3rd tier who say they can't play matches I think. How many League One games are going ahead now on Boxing Day - 7 maybe? There are not enough dates remaining to play all the postponed games that are piling up. We need a 'Pools panel' or the season should be scrapped.
FIFA have lodged a criminal complaint against Sepp Blatter over the financing of a museum in Zurich. Shurely shome mishtake. Sepp seems such an honest man. When he held up the sign and shouted "QATAR!" his integrity shone through like a beacon. And FIFA is such an honest organisation that any whiff of corruption would be spotted immediately.
