Couldn't agree more ... he is player of the season so far in my book ... imagine him and Fofana in a couple of years from now ... wow
Can anyone explain to me why VAR drew the line from Aurier’s right boot instead of his left shoulder, in Maddison’s disallowed goal? Take another look.
Was it 2 years ago we won 2-1 at home to that other Manchester team with the Riccy thunderbolt on Boxing Day? After winning away at another London ‘sky 6’ side in Chelsea the weekend before? Let’s channel that energy this time!
Still can’t work that decision out, absolute shambles and not what VAR should be for! Missing clear pens is what it is for so we say the good and the bad but Craig Pawson has always been an ass when in charge of us
That’s a very good result against a side who has won every away game. Can’t believe it’s our first draw, often you hear that the difference for a side in terms of over a season is not turning enough draws into wins but for us I think we have won so many games, the most in the league but lost the most of any side going down to West Ham in 10th so it’s a case of turning defeats into draws to supplement the wins with the odd further point. Villa at home losing a point late on was a bad case but that today is very important.
Showed good character to come back twice, but still the same old problems. Three times the centre of defence was breached leaving opponents one on one against the keeper. Has to improve. I don't think we won any defensive headers from corners. Has to improve. No headers from attacking corners. Guess what? Has to ..... well you get the idea.
Pretty happy with that to be fair. Too often we have not turned up in these big games. When you see the Man Utd line up and who they can bring off the bench to get a draw at home against serial away winners is OK. They may have missed a sitter and Kasper pulled off a fine save but some of our midfield work was superb and we were just one good pass away from breaking through several times.
Pretty happy with a point, our home record, boxing day record versus their away form and boxing day record didn't bode well. Some defensive issues but some great play from us too. Merry Christmas fellow Foxes!
In all seriousness, a great point which I think we would all have taken at kick off. Great to see Castagne get 90 minutes.....let’s not do a Leicester and follow this result up with a poor performance and defeat at Palace tomorrow!!!!
What can go wrong against a Palace side who have lost both games this week to a combined 10-0! I know we won on the equivalent weekend last week away at West Ham with a much changed side but hopefully the rotation is sensible and not wholesale or at least try and get a good lead then rest a couple. We do have a good few days after this until Newcastle as well.
..... but if they had ....... I'm not sure what will happen when Soyuncu is fit again. He gives us speed over the ground but isn't the tallest of defenders. Fofana hasn't shown any signs of dominating from set pieces, so I'll be intrigued to see whether Evans keeps his place or we go with a back 3. Maybe it will all depend on the aerial threat from the opposition.
The same can be said for when Ricardo is back fully fit. That will give us Justin, Ricardo, Castagne, Evans, Fofana and Soyuncu to choose from. 1 if not 2 will have to miss out. I think James Justin deserves to start every game at the moment.
When all six of the above mentioned are fit for a period of time it would be ideal to rotate them. With Justin’s versatility to play in a back three that means they’d all get a breather once every six games. If Rodgers decides on a settled back 4 or 5 then there’ll be one or two unhappy/talented players on the bench. With Europe and possibly an FA cup run, rotating the players is what I see happening.
Slightly disagree on Fofana... he does win quite a few headers from the set pieces and him and Ndidi will, I suspect, be our go tos in that regard in future ...
