I hope all of those right wing ‘libertarian’ ****s who’ve been writing articles in the papers, posting on SM, hosting radio shows etc, since the Summer, telling people the pandemic was ‘over’. That masks were unnecessary and lockdowns were a ridiculous breach of our civil liberties, all hang their ****ing heads in shame today,

As it’s them who’ve helped empowered those who chose to break the rules and in doing so help drive this ****show. ****s like that ****er Simon Dolan who’s behind the KBF movement which he orchestrates from his home in ****ing Monaco, should be locked up for what they’ve done. As their aim was driven by greed and he’s spend 9 months coordinating a campaign of misinformation and ‘freedom’ marches,

The Govts Tier system simply hasn’t worked. Closing hospitality whilst virtual everything else carried on as ‘normal’ during a period when it was obvious retail outlets would be rammed with people shopping for Christmas, was utter madness. Especially given we spent November in lockdown.

This Govt have kept repeating the same mistakes from March onwards, they’ve acted too late continually, seemingly held back by those pushing back against restrictions that have economic consequences. The result has been we’ve ended up making it worse, as each time we’ve acted the virus had patently spread exponentially during the period of hanging back.

 

The fact they kept London 'open' while the rest of the country was in stricter tiers, and pretty much pretending it wasn't happening down there, is absolutely ****ing scandalous.

Yep, it was in Tier 2 until the other day ffs. Now it’s in full lockdown.....apart from all those who are currently legging it out of the capital with bags packed & new strain COVID on board.

Within an hour of Boris announcement, Bluewater shopping centre in Kent had 5 mile queues in either direction trying to get in for those last minute gifts!

 

That’ll be Bluewater that’s just up the road from Medway which they’ve pin pointed as the original source of this new COVID variant.

I'm sure I commented somewhere in this thread something similar. Kent and Medway contagion went through the roof, I wasn't understanding therefore why London was in Tier 2, from Ebbsfleet (Tier 3) it's an 18 minute high speed journey, that's how close London was to the spread. Only yesterday morning a professor (can't remember name), said the South East needs to be locked down, NOW! In my view it's already too late, the genie is already out of the bottle and 70% more transmittable. The first sign of the new strain, first contact was September, it took until October to identify it, but that was still before the new tiers were announced.

 

Agree. It can't be contained now, absolutely no chance at all.
