I think Ivic should be given the time to stamp discipline into the squad and get results then. At some stage someone has to stand up to player power.
Generally, I agree. I really do. But if all the players are underperforming, if they all seem wary of taking (and hence creating) chances, the whole character of the team has changed, then maybe it’s time. I think he has had time to stamp on the squad. With hobnails!
True but he isn't getting the results expected and certainly the style of play isn't popular but then which type is in you aren't winning? Tory was probably late for the coach or team meeting - presume any incident must have occurred after they arrived in Huddersfield?
Ivic This is the starting line up Deeney **** *** **** is that Three central defender against Huddersfield, two years ago we did the double over them and smashed them away from home Ivic I am the boss Deeney Not for ******* much longer Ivic Sit on the bench Deeney ****
It is a long time since you could "stamp discipline" onto anybody. First you have to gain their respect, and I suspect that this has never happened with Ivic. I refer to my earlier comment. When Ivic arrived he said, I think about an issue with Deeney, that he was not here to make friends. I think he has succeeded in this and is now in the process of losing the dressing room. Deeney, as captain, is the go between between the players and the manager, and I wouldn't be surprised if the disciplinary issue was along the lines of being the mouthpiece of player discontent and disagreement with the manager. I have never warmed to Ivic and would like to see him gone. But where will we find a replacement? With such a turnover of managers, I think the top man should look at himself in the mirror and ask why are none having any success. That is where he problem lies.
