HT. 0-1. Showed a bit more fight in the final 20 mins, but still not good enough. Elneny and Ceballos are so poor out of possession. Gabriel's had an awful game. Confidence looks absolutely shot and was partially responsible for Walcott's goal as he got drawn out of position. Tierney's positioning wasn't much better. We've been outplayed and dominated for the most part. They're winning all the 50-50s, second balls, they're able to carry the ball on the half turn faster and they just look so much sharper than us. We've been awful in transition and so easy to bypass. Need to be SO much better.
The most damning thing I can say is I think this is the first real evidence of Arteta losing the dressing room. the players out there look disinterested, without any sort of belief or desire. Arteta is a dead man walking at this point.
Another red card ! Can you believe this ****? Gabriel had been awful all game, and that just compounds his misery. Rightly sent off. Yet another idiotic thing to do when we were starting to regain control of the game.
FT. 1-1. Overall, it's not a result we needed, but in the circumstances, a point will have to suffice. However, yet again, we are architects of our downfall with utter idiocy. We could have won it at the end, with Holding's header hitting the bar, but it wasn't to be. Why do we do this to ourselves? Every single time we get back into a game or look like we're starting to get momentum, our players do the most brainless things that completely derail the game plan. A win here (which may have been possible 11 v 11) would have done us wonders going into the Everton game. Everton now picking up form as we're about to play them...
I suppose it’s good to hang on for a point after playing for 30 minutes when down to 10 men. but this result doesn’t really help us climb the table, and ironically probably will buy arteta a few more games now.
This is arguable one of the worst arsenal starting lines up in recent times. 1Leno 16Holding 23David Luiz 3Tierney 15Maitland-Niles 25Elneny 8Ceballos 7Saka 19Pépé 30Nketiah 12Willian
Why pick on one of our youth talent Nketiah? Auba could not hit a cow's arse with a banjo.. Not Nketiah's fault we are where we are right now!
I really wanted it to work out for Arteta, but nothing he's doing is working. The personnel he selects keep flopping, the players look uncomfortable with these tactics and they're not even doing the basics right. They look lost and nervous. Lowest amount of goals scored since the international break, 19th in the league for shots on target, 20th for shooting accuracy and 20th for conversion rate. Regardless of how bad people think our players are, there's no excuse at all for statistics as lowly as this.
If this continues all season we will be relegated. and I’m talking in a mathematical sense not just because we’re playing poorly.
Yeah true - well if we are in genuine danger of that he may go.. otherwise I feel like with the restructuring etc.. its unlikley they will sack him. Especially considering he was only 'promoted' to manager this Season.
Cant tell me with Ceballos invizible, Elneny technically lacking and Willock offering no defensive ability.. we wouldnt be better with Guendouzi on the pitch.
Just thinking out loud... Elneny has been brought in after years of being deemed not good enough. rob holding is captain. nicolas Pepe cost 72m. we’re 15th in the league set to lose our 8th game of 14. Where the **** is this club going??? Honestly what the **** is the plan???
We should have gone for Ancelotti - he's been quality at Everton soo far. Also we've been alot better today but Everton have basically out manouvered us tactically. Honestly I would take Wenger back at this point.
