I can wholeheartedly say do not bother making Jamie Oliver gravy. I did it the other year. Followed the recipe meticulously. It nearly ruined Christmas Day as was truly rancid. I’ve done a few Jamie Oliver recipes and never like any of them. Did a Turkey a few years ago now, where I made a herby butter than you stuffed under the skin of the Turkey. It was ****. The Turkey tasted of the butter which was over powered with lemons. I sat there watching people push lemony Turkey round their plate trying to avoid it. Have come to the conclusion that Gordon Ramsey, Tom kerridge and James Martin recipes are far superior.
I concur. I made it once, not only was the process time consuming and felt like a massive faff for a jug of gravy, when the day arrived it tasted like ****ing ****. Never bothered since, M&S gravy in a tub all day long, tastes way better and I’m not ****ing arsed it’s not home made.
I actually agree, the **** he puts in there is ridiculous. Although I watched the show on TV many years ago and have pre made the gravy since I've never used his recipe I just use the method to make a really nice simple meat gravy, the method works well.
It is a long process I agree but the results I get are really good. I'll look into the M&S gravy for NY Day.
Agree with tobes just buy a tub from M&S or Waitrose. got to go to Waitrose as I want some foie grais. Doing a James Martin recipe for the goose.
Thanks, it was delicious, bought another to eat tomorrow at home. all that and 4 big bottles of beer was a little over £20.
My stomach ain't feeling the best so gonna knock myself up a nice light salad for dinner, might do chicken bacon and Grape, or just buy some cold meats. Any salad suggestions?
