Boris's fault presumably? As are the tighter lockdowns in Italy and Holland and tightening of things in Sweden no doubt.
Germany is using shipping containers for storing the victims as they don't have the available resources. I think the UK media need to have a long hard look at how they have portrayed events. Once again, they've been found wanting at a time when people are in need of good information.
An act of parliament that gives the Prime Minister dictatorial executive powers without a state of emergency being formally declared sets an extremely dangerous precedent.
On a more serious note, how much longer can Boris keep faffing with his haircuts before he has to just face the fact he's gone very bald?
Parliamentary review of the act every 6 months, or something like that? Still, legislation that gives the head of government supreme executive authority to shut down the country whenever they want without a state of emergency is dodgy. Not to get too political but I think the Leader of the Opposition's most-said phrase since becoming leader has been 'I support the government'. Rule by decree is not healthy for any so-called democracy.
Depending on how far Northern....Irma Grese has been given a 5.25 time slot up here to make an announcement.
Must say that has ****ed up plans. Daughter was coming for few days and Granddaughter for her birthday on Christmas Eve...
Sorry to hear that, I imagine there's going to be a lot of disappointed people. I don't think he should have announced people could flaunt the rules for five days, anything that can increase the risk of the disease being transmitted is a daft idea, just look at Thanksgiving in America.
I'm not sure how to word this, and I'm not meaning this as a personal pop, it's just that your post is here as an example, but most people will have done what amounts to a risk assessment for family visits, and that risk has only changed in that there is the added risk of being asked to disperse by a policeman or face a fine. It seems to suggest that the fear of a fine is greater than the fear of the virus.
And they'll all be breaking the law? I thought it started midnight tonight. What they do need to do is clarify quickly exactly which bits of the S East, London, and East of England are going into tier 4.
