I still see Sissoko and Lamela (when he’s not crocked) get far too much game time

If I was Jose, and the loan T+Cs allow it, I would seriously
consider recalling Skipp to the fold.

You'll have to get used to seeing a lot more of Sissoko for the foreseeable future, he's been pretty pivotal to our style of play this season and he's having a decent one too alongside Hojbjerg. Jose has mentioned that in time he believes Gio and Tanguy can start together though so Sissoko is probably on borrowed time from a first XI perspective.

Lamela I agree with, hence why I've been calling for him to be binned.

Franck Kessie claims he is happy at Milan

Oh well, that'll mean just the two dozen articles suggesting he'll be joining us next month then...

We have the best defensive record in the league and you think some guy who is in and out of the Inter team would make that better. Why?

Our back line insists that matches last 85 minutes, as there's a guaranteed mistake in them at any point after that which is enough to get 'Nam flashbacks of AVB's stint in charge

Also, it has to be said there's two reason why Skriniar is in and out of Inter's team
i.) Conte insists on playing 3ATB with Skriniar on the right in spite of the obvious fact that Skriniar doesn't have the pace to play there
ii.) Skriniar had a slight case of the Covid in October, so of course he was going to miss a stretch of games, but he's been an ever-present since

The obvious issue is we have to play Non-HG roulette if we were to sign him. Not an issue if Gazzaniga has a January move lined up (or the talk of Sanchez heading to Serie A holds water), but obviously an issue if neither of those come to fruition and we have a repeat of the summer of 2018 all over again

Szoboszlai (unsurprisingly) joins Leipzig from Salzburg.

Very, very good talent. Think us and just about every top six side along with most of Europe held some form of interest in him.

On the plus side, that might mean that Marcel Sabitzer is available next summer

So if we open negotiations now we might have the paperwork sorted by next July, thank you very much you fish-obsessed weirdos...

    Longstaff Watch
May as well bump him up to full "...Watch" status

According to the Daily FISH!!!!!, Sean Longstaff's brand spanking new agent Pini Zahavi has made him a promise that he will engineer a move to us, and with 18 months on Longstaff's contract that presumably means either January or next summer

Footballing gods, I’m on my knees! My favourite player to play for this club. Even at 35 he’s better than what we’ve got.

He's been frozen out because we don't have room for him in the squad. He wouldn't be playing, especially at right-back at the moment.
Aurier and Doherty are splitting it, with the new guy being heavily outplayed at the moment and having to bide his time for Premier League games.
Tanganga would be third choice there, when he's fit.

As I suggested when Rakitic was linked, all we have to do is plonk Harry Winks next to him and say "Just do what he does"

We can`t do much about the officials failing to award a free kick for a foul on one of our defenders.

We can do a hell of a lot better with the resulting set piece, though

This is the issue: we have a clear weakness to set pieces taken from the same area, which can only be fixed with one of two measures
Measure 1.) Having a CB who can dominate in the air so the threat is reduced
Measure 2.) Address why we keep conceding free kicks in the same part of the pitch regardless of who is on the pitch so the threat becomes an afterthought

This is the issue with our current setup: it's missing key pieces to make it effective yet we're using it anyway. For example, we'd likely we'd be at least four points better off right now (take your pick from the Palace, Newcastle or West Scam matches) if we had a CB who could head the ball away all week long if he had to and better defensive nous for those covering the RB spot as not only would we have been more secure in the air when facing set pieces but the chances are we wouldn't be facing them anyway

    Good

Didn’t see one single thing about him that looked good at all.
