I'd take Adkins back in a heartbeat, but that's not going to happen, so I'd try for Paul Cook.

Adkins isn't an option for obvious reasons. Cook left his last job after getting them relegated to the very position we're in.

Cook took Portsmouth up as champions, went to Wigan and took them up as champions and they were only two pints off staying up, despite a 12 point deduction and having a team of players that weren't being paid.

And McCann was doing well at Doncaster. Cook didn't continue his good work, he left after relegation.

You asked me who I'd go for and I told you, I think McCann should have gone in March and has been on borrowed time ever since.

Marvelous, that's the end of that then. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

He's sure to know how to tackle the problems some are claiming are endemic in the club, which seems to suggest the problem isn't Ehab. :emoticon-0105-wink:

whichever way you look at it, McCann should walk - if he's picking the team, then he should have already gone if he had any pride - and it Ehabs picking the team then he should resign anyway if he had any pride - you know where the door is, open it, walk out and dont look back

So no manager and no owner is the way forwards? It's innovative, I'll give you that.

    Walk out to where ?
Unemployment in an industry that has no income at the moment and the very existence of a lot of clubs as professional outfits is in doubt ?
Go down well with a relegation on his CV alongside a walk out.
Clubs would be climbing over themselves to appoint him, as they are Nigel Adkins.

It's easy to demand a new owner or a new manager, if you don't have to take responsibility for the outcome of that change or find the replacements.

It's easy for all the football forum managers to demand xyz and claim they know best, all with the benefit of hindsight and no accountability or financial responsibility, it's almost as easy as being a member of the shadow cabinet

I'm trying to think when we last had a boxing day game cancelled, I've got York away in my head many many moons ago, it was cancelled just as I got to the ground ( it was sometime over Xmas/new year )

    I don't understand this bickering.
    Surely it's very very simple.
Enob is a **** and should just **** off (as far as he can **** off, which however far away that was still wouldn't be far enough)
McCann is a **** manager / coach and should be replaced.
Isn't it as simple as that? Why the debates / arguments?
Of course, neither of the above is likely to happen anyway ....... because Enob is a ****.

McCann has an exceptionally poor waving record.

I d like to see us appoint a proven manager who acknowledges the fans request with a wave, even if only discreetly..

All this from someone who vigorously defended them a decade ago in the Pearson/Barmby era.

Were you one of those who wore a fez?

    WTF?
Initially I thought it was near to a dream ticket. A reasonably wealthy local owner, who appeared to really care about the area and it's people.
As mentioned before, 1 or 2 warned from day one. I didn't believe them, but then the signs started appearing (like Pearson, the treatment of Barmby as you happen to mention them).
Never worn a fez, and I don't recall ever vigorously defending them, other than in the very early days before we knew better! Some saw the light earlier than me, but I was not that far behind.
They are ****s when it comes to 'our' football club, and I've been saying so when many were still defending them.

Yep, really simple, all it needs is the replacements. Who do you have in mind for both positions?
