£ ? I imagine he would prefer to wait for another PL opening if he wants to stay in England. As he was trying to get Eze to West Brom maybe he'll wait for Hodgson to retire! Also after a good start at Hammers, and WBA's promotion which was almost a given with their Squad, he hasn't had lasting success as a Club Manager.
I hope that at last I will be able to watch a stream on QPR+, although I don't think that I have missed too much action. Christmas will come a few day early - I hope! Time for an R's win!
I recall being at the away game... horrible drive back to Bristol with my brother-in-law who is a Swindon tragic
Wycombe will be up for this. Playing a team only 4 places above them and in poor form will be seen as a valuable opportunity for 3 points at home to them. We all believe we are due the points because ... well, we do! I do think it’s a must win tbh. We are on a poor run; a loss against what is unfortunately considered favourites for relegation will have us all running around waving our hands screaming “don’t panic, don’t panic” and be a big hit on any confidence the team has right now (not to say any confidence MW is trying to muster after every game). Hide all you like behind all the games left, but as they come thick and fast, injuries start to bite, we would rue a loss today and 3 valuable points to any mid-table safety.
Pissing down which doesn’t bode terribly well. 11/4 Wycombe is getting tempting. What happens if we don’t win this absolute must win game? Do we get to cancel the Swansea match?
Won’t have to worry. The world will implode. Or ... we imagine everything is OK and stop worrying because it’s only 20 games and of course we’re too good to go down and we’ll have an average of 0.95pts per game; and it was only 0.96pts per game for Charlton who went down last season - oh hold on...
How Rangers would it be to go and win? Even more Rangers to roll over and die. All down to team selection/attitude and if we set about them, like we did Rotherham. Dieng Kakay Dickie Barbie Nico Carroll Ball Willock BOS Chair Dykes (last chance saloon) or Bonne but he's always offside. 4-2 either way
What concerns me is we really are one dimensional, we say we play a passing game but 90% of the passes are in areas that don't hurt the opposition. Sideways and backwards don't tax the opponents and the attacking positions always seem to be covered easily by the opposition. Any coaches watching us will just say let them have it in their half and press when in ours. It would help if our wide players could deliver crosses that were accurate rather than barely clearing the first defender, ditto for corners. I'd love to know what they actually do in training, pretty triangles may make the stats look good but they don't win matches...
Couldn’t agree more. It frustrates me to see us pass back from a forward position and then pass it along the back. The opposition must be just waiting to pounce. It’s a bit too predictable
That is a scarily accurate description of how we play, and how easy we are to play against. The question I keep asking myself, is what has changed since a few months ago, when we played good football and seemed to score a fair few goals too?
Yeah, but am I wrong in remembering that even after they all left, we played some nice stuff for a few games? Since then (I'm thinking of the win at Forest, win vs Cardiff) it has just been a slow decline. Look them up though, they were only exceptional wins in the midst of other poor results. So yep...understandably we haven't been able to perform well after losing some key players.
It’s good that you can be a bit more rational after dramatically declaring this a must win earlier but I wouldn’t agree that it’s all good. We’ve been quite poor of late.
Threaten to play Ainsworth and Cech’s Xmas song in the changing room if the team lose. That should be sufficient added incentive to get a result.
