Yes, Forest, for one, are jealous of our success in Europe. They, and the others envy our success in the top flight and in the FA Cup and League Cup as well,
I don't go along with the apparent 'right' we have to beat any team in this division. It's a complete and utter fallacy. Any team that goes out with that attitude is doomed to failure. But we are as big as if not bigger than Blackpool now. We have a (questionable after tonight) bigger/better squad than them right now. Just before and immediately after WW2, they were absolutely massive compared to us. We didn't even register on any comparable scale compared to them. Within the last decade they have had 1 season in the Premier League, we have 5. They have 0 seasons in Europe we have 1. They have 0 FA Cup final appearances, we have 1, though not much to crow about compared to Blackpool's 3 or 4 appearances and 1 win. We have both had some fine players (not just Matthews, but the outstanding Jimmy Armfield and future World Cup winner Alan Ball amongst others), theirs historically, ours more recently. No doubting their fine history, but its over a lifetime ago, compared to our more recent 'achievements'.
Blackpool record crowd 38,096. I'm not smelling massive here Someone fetch the attendance divided by population algorithm,
If only there was some sort of table that ranked teams on their performance to see where they sit compared to other teams. Maybe split it into different divisions to add a bit of interest. We're in the third tier because that's what we achieved on our own merits. We recently got stuffed by Fleetwood, the smallest town in the tier system. I've far more respect for Fleetwood fans than I have for someone that chooses one of the top six. What value is there in trying to claim to be a 'big club' however you want to define it?
True. But recently we have spent more time in the top flight than Forest, Leeds and the Sheffield massive but not for one moment will anyone consider us as big a club as them. Same with Watford and Bournemouth or Brighton who have also had a better record than any of those for a decade or more.
5here was a table based on team's achievements down the years based on points earned according to what division they were gained in. Prior to our going into the PL we were just behind Luton. Don't know the standings now.
Charlton 70,000. Of course the population algorithm favoured by yourself includes metropolitan areas for other clubs but only city boundaries for us,
Lots of the top six supporters are simply spineless buggers that lack character. Outside of the genuine top six big clubs, those that quote being supporters of a big club, probably do so cos they realise that quoting their history is a mask to cover just how **** they are now -> particularly looking towards those twats in S6. As you say, respect due to the likes of Fleetwood (yeah yeah Barton's a bit of a tit), Accrington and even Burton who shone brightly for a while that punch above their weight. Begrudgingly I'd include Burnley in that lot, who also have lots of ancient history.
You must be at the top table of urinators on this forum with your screechy needy posts. Do you agree?
Bad forum etiquette to evade questions by replying with questions. A disinterested onlooker might conclude; the respondee has nowt to offer. Game set maych and tournament to the inquisitor.
