I think last version that did that to me was 2011. I've tried a few times since and just haven't got into it as much... My life will become FM for a few weeks and then I get bored. Doesnt have the same addictiveness as before. I think because too hard now, you have to micromanage everything to get best out of everything and that's just too much for me. Older games you could do well just macro managing the team. Too hard and too boring now, too much like work compared to the older versions. The spectrum 48k version of football manager was always the best! Lol.
lol, I keep putting my mouse over the buy option in steam, but know it's my gaming crack. I've already done the septuple numerous times on other versions with a squad of former youths, do I need to do it again?
I played premier manager on an amiga emulator during lockdown, so much less hassle than the newer ones. LMA series was probably my favourite, just enough depth and managing.
Yeah too much to do now, it's not fun. Of course, don't know if Amiga was like this, but what used to piss me off on Spectrum is if you put a player up for sale and refused an offer, it would automatically injure that player. So frustrating, and only realistic in sardinian football leagues.

Was playing the 2011 version until 2 years ago, was a guy online sold an updated database file for each new season for a fiver, saved splashing 50 quid each year for just a couple of extra bells and whistles.
