I fail to see how the Scottish Football punishment can be regarded as fair. Commons got a longer suspension than Naismith. Commons offence was to mistime his tackle. Naismith's offence was to hit an opponent on the head with his elbow Neil Lennon criticised Commons. Ally McCoist told Naismith to continue using his elbow. Where is the fairness?
Celtic got double punished. Not only did we have to play a chunk of the game with only 10 men but said player is now suspended for two games. Rangers got to finish the game with 11 men and Naismith gets the same two match suspension. And posters like purpolaris think Rangers get a raw deal from the SFA!
After last season fiasco with Scottish cup shame game , anything the sfa does now will not surprise you .Even the two Hibs players Stack and O'connor getting reported is all on the back of playing down the Naismith incident
Quite simply, we are the establishment team, hence we are better.(aye but youse pyoor steal aff auld lizzy an aw that)
not really commons got what he deserved for a shocking tackle, he was always gonna get the ban that comes with it. Would you prefer they didnt review incidents like the naismith one? then he would not have been banned at all. The real issue is how the ref failed to spot it during the game
The referee can't send someone off for something they never seen. It was later reviewed and Naismith was suspended for two games. McCoist accepted the ban, end of story. Commons' tackle was horrendous and probably should have been a 3 match ban. It was lucky that the player on the receiving end of it never had his leg broken.
That was kinda what I was getting at. I have no problem with Commons getting a two match ban (the way he's been playing he'll hardly be missed). I was simply pointing out the inconsistency.
The only reason the referee did not see Naismith's elbow was because he did not want to see it. Two wrongs don't make a right but what about six or eight. That bas...d Craig Thompson clearly saw about eight different late tackles/kicks by Dundee United players against Scot Brown five or six weeks ago. Each and everyone was in the same category as Commons tackle. What did Thompson do that day, he dished out a couple of yellows and a couple of frees and waved play on. How do I know he saw them, because he smiled every time. He was also smiling when he sent Commons off and was talking to the Hearts players afterwards. Why did the game start with Hearts giving the ball back to Celtic?
There was talk last season that Craig Thompson was working at Ibrox. I suppose he regards refereeing Celtic games as a lve/hate relationship. He loves doing us and we hate been cheated by him. As way of payment Rangers arrange for him to get doing what he loves best. Shi..... upon us and smiling as he does it. Remember H.D. and the ar.. tapping.
I suspect those 2 fannies are wums but I'll bite anyway Is this the same Craig Thomson that gave celtic a penalty at Ibrox for that stokes dive last season? And who sent Kevin Thomson off at tynecastle and in the cup final against st mirren for yellow card challenges? The same guy that done a dougie mcdonald (correctly IMO, but still a pro rangers ref wouldn't have reversed it) in last seasons league cup final?
The same day kevin thomson was sent off how did you win that day ??? Yes a penalty outside the box last minute , with Thompson 20/30 yards behind play , and who could ever forgot his performance at Ibrox start of season 09 , least we got a sort of apology for the mistakes he made that day
