    Match Preview;

The eagle eyed among you will have noticed that the stats show we should be optimistic going into this one. We have only played Wycombe 6 times before, and only twice in December...and we won them both. The two draws came in September '03 and March '04. Also, Wycombe sit 23rd in the league, with 2 wins all year...having last won on the 4th of November. Their top scorer is Scot Kashket, with 4 goals...but they have conceded 28 goals so far, more than any other team in the division except Preston (30). Beyond their games against us, I do wish Wycombe well, as many of us will have a soft spot for their manager, ex-Ranger, Gareth Ainsworth, who left us to take over at Wycombe in 2012. This means that he has been their manager for 8 years...and has been given time despite relegation shortly after he took over, to take them back into League One...and then build a team that was able to win the playoffs last year. What an idea that is...give a manager time, despite some early hiccups, to put a plan into motion and see where it takes you. Craziness.

I'm sure I wasn't alone in being a bit frustrated on Tuesday night. Yes, we played some nice football and yes we had chances...but we had 12 shots and only 2 on target. A lot of our attacks seemed to be too slow in the final third, and we gave too much time for Stoke to get back and defend when we broke forward. Given how leaky the Wycombe defense is, surely we have to take more risks and just go for goals on Saturday instead of tapping the ball around just outside their penalty area.

I'll add team news when it is on the official, and others can add what they know...but given their league position and our very close proximity to the bottom three, surely nothing less than a win on Saturday is a must.

Enjoy one and all, and as always...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

The 'stiffs' are closing in from behind, lose this one and we're right in the brown stuff. It would be nice to convert our passing game into a scoring game for this one...

Need to win this one just for a bit of breathing space.

Surely, Warburton must go for two upfront with Chair told to push on just behind. Here's hoping.

So they have...edited accordingly...cheers...and good luck for the rest of the season bar Saturday and January 16th.

Anyone we should be particularly wary of on Saturday? How has Wheeler been? I was mildly hopeful about him when he joined us but he never got much of a chance with us...how has he been for you?

If I posted that the sun was rising in the East, that would be your response.
It's a must win for many reasons imo, not least the next few games we have after Wycombe.
Lose and confidence will be rock bottom as we slide into the relegation zone.
Warburton will also be under huge pressure if we lose.

    Must win.

No, it’s just not a must win given we’re 19 games into the season. It’s not that deep.

Get them playing up front for us

They're much more likely to score than any of our strikers......

I am nervous at this one.
On paper they are not as good as us...but they seem to be playing with a lot more spirit and faith than we are.

And that could easy do us over.

Good thing that bucks has gone to tier 3. Would not have liked to play against Wycombe and 2000 fans

I hope we have been practising getting good crosses in aimed at Dykes head all week, so good that they rebound into their net even with him flailing his arms and legs around everywhere as normal.

    Ever so slightly conflicted here.
Love Ainsworth as I suspect most of us do but immense respect for Akinfenwa too!
I think I've sort of adopted them as one of my favourite teams!!
    Nevertheless COYRssss!!!!!!
