We received 400 grand apparently No complaints from me there Good luck to him but he wasn’t much cop for us And pay off kingsleys contract??? Seriously have a word
Clark is worth more than 400 grand now and probably was at the time. We bought Coyle for 350k, Clark has more potential. And if you do sell him, you can get a sell-on clause from his next transfer. Say we sold him a year later for 800k, which isn't a huge sum. You put a 10% sell on clause in and he matures to be a £2m player (I can't imagine a Premier League club paying much less, especially when an agent can play on links with Liverpool) you get another 200k. That's a million you can get with pretty achievable figures involved, and who knows what might happen in the future? Look at Harry Maguire, who thought he'd go for £80m after we sold him? Yes it'll work on some players and it won't work on others, but as I say, if you never take the risk, you never get the reward and you just end up chucking opportunities away, if you want to grow at some point you've got to try, otherwise you'll never get another Bowen.
I think it’s important to recognise that this situation is affecting our form on the pitch. I said in a MDT two or three weeks ago that it seemed the cohesion and spirit in the squad had evaporated a bit. I think we now know why. How many more poor performances is Ehab willing to tolerate in order to hammer home whatever point he is trying to make? Three tough games left this year, we have a squad operating at 95% when only 100% will do when you are competing at the top. Can we afford to kiss away those three games while the latest high pissing contest continues? Plus, we will presumably now lose KLP from the bench now. Seems impractical for him to be selected given what’s been said.
Begs the question does Ehab care if we don't get promoted, if he can run with a league 1 wage bill and make his money selling players?
From his business perspective, he possibly saw no resolution to the problem of falling gates, and the reduced income that comes as a consequence, which leaves the option being to reduce costs, where the biggest one is liable to be players wages.
I agree, I also feel this is affecting the team, they all stick together and talk amongst each other if they feel one of their team mates is not being fairly treated it's going to affect moral.
I also liked Max Clark and felt he was developing well. Leo obviously thought so, and he has been very good in Holland, as I've followed his progress there and has done well. IMO, he would probably be in the team now, as we wouldn't have bought Elder.
Not going quite so well for Clark at the moment, in the last year of his deal, no new deal offered and can't currently make the squad...
Not a patch on elder You can prove anything with facts strange Liverpool were after him not so long back Shirley not an agent desperate for a deal any deal for him saying that I hope he gets fixed up somewhere Just not for us
Ehab must be rubbing his hands in glees paying out all that money in wages etc and nothing coming in at the other end and no prospect of any soon either.
Wouldn't it be more financially prudent to push for promotion this season and attempt to sell the Club as a going concern in the Championship?
I agree entirely but getting out of this division would make it feasible. My whole point is,and it's up for debate, are we a more attractive buy in this division or the Championship? I'd like a new owner of our Club too because things can't continue with the rift between the Allams and a large number of our supporters(that's a 2 way thing and something that must end).I believe under new ownership and obviously with serious cash injection we can be a force again....Things aren't going well at the Club,we've become something of a laughing stock and the quicker it's resolved to everyone's satisfaction the better.
He will not get regular starts in a Championship side. Really? He's still learning but I'm sure I've seen many worse players in the Championship. Some of them have even played for City too.
The same was said about the prem. Aren't we a better proposition in that league, more saleable, than being a Championship club?
