you might not be anywhere near old enough to answer this, but how on earth did you get dave bamber to score all those goals? he was rubbish when he was here and any attempt to dribble made him look like one of those puppies from a large brand of dog when they can't yet control their huge paws and keep tripping over blades of grass. his most spectacular goal with us was an own-goal.
Performce for the most part was okay for an away tie at a decent side. Being done twice on the counter wasn't okay though, and was the difference on the night. Yet I'm not going to have a 'crisis' about it, cos we've been mostly very good defensively this season, and it's from a pattern of weakness this season so far. I for one will see what develops before wetting myself about it and chucking my toys out of the pram. Suggest some others do the same.
I wonder if other players are thinking about their deals? What’s reece Burke’s situation? This is his third season isn’t it?
No better by the looks of their results. We had a brilliant run and that's what has kept them at arm's length. However, there are now only four points covering the top six. We can play some great stuff but at the moment we aren't. That's all.
Ehab really is a clown... At the club’s request, Lewis-Potter agreed to remove a significant financial clause in his deal in a bid to get the deal done, but it’s understood Allam is insistent on the extra year being accepted or there is no deal. Lewis-Potter is believed to be upset by the club’s stance and feels that he’s being pushed into agreeing on a deal that he does not feel is right for the development of a career which shows great promise. Hull Live has learned senior players within the dressing room are sympathetic to his situation and there is a frustration it is now being played out in the media. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/lewis-potter-hull-city-allam-4805492
Just thought I’d post this for some of our delicate fans in 2008/9 peps first season in charge at Barcelona. With a front three of Eto Messi and Terry Henry A midfield of xavi iniesta and ya ya toure A defence of piquet Marquez puyol Alves And all the back up of a fantastic squad They lost 5 games and drew 6 out of 38!!! More than a quarter of games they didn’t win Bit of a disaster of a season tbh isn’t it? only won the league the CL and the cup. I’m sure Steven and little quill would be helpfully pointing out how much better they could and should have done don’t you? Really not good enough is it. Surprised pep is even working in football after that disaster
And that’s not good for morale is it I imagine players want to sit down now and get their future sorted out by Xmas not wait until summer And reece should be getting offered a new three year deal. Going into your last year getting triggered by the club is a concern re injuries etc and not good. Steve Bruce always looked after his players and why he fell out with ehab
As it stands currently, Lewis-Potter is happy to sign fresh terms on the deal which runs to summer 2022 and renegotiate a longer-term deal at the end of the current season, but ultimately the youngster, who is not motivated by big money, wants to play football for his hometown club and play a part in their success. That bit is interesting. why negotiate now and in the summer??
****ing hell Chazz, you just compared McCann and City to Guardiola and Barcelona. And we're the deluded ones? This isn't even worth arguing about, I'm out of here.
The clubs position is beyond stupid. The lad has 18 months left on his current contract and has agreed changed financial terms. The question of length of contract can continue to be discussed, no problem. Where is the lack of commitment? What is he been punished for? Total screwup.
Few ostriches sticking their heads in the sand here .. Pep McCann ? Roflmao .. Best laugh I've had in ages
Is this a normal thing to have a contract until .... but when it reaches the end the club can activate the extra year option.
Talk of missing points ? Its about the manner in which we have succumbed .. when it could have been prevented.. by a tactically aware manager ( which McCann quite obviously isnt) .. this is why people are annoyed. We don't have any right to expect to win games .. and we will lose our fair share .. but the tactics being employed isn't doing the team any favours. Our stand out players so far this season have had to put in so much work they are now feeling the effects and as a result their performance levels drop. There isn't going to be a sudden change in tactics from the naive one .. so they will continue to be asked to try and compete against an extra man in midfield .. the back four will continue to carry a heavy work load ..and mistakes will ultimately be made due to fatigue. This is were the frustration lies .. not because we have lost a couple .. but the way in which it has come about.
I can see this KLP situation causing the same downturn in form as the last 30 games in the Championship. In my humble opinion the matter should be investigated by the EFL. KLP is virtually being blackmailed into agreement of an extended contract. The player and his representative need to seek legal advice. This man should not be in charge of a football club. Ehab seems intent in ruining again the good start made by the team. McCann should be picking KLP to play and not place him on the bench. It is plainly obvious who is making such decisions certainly not McCann.
