McLean did really well after an extended lay off. I think he was brought in to allow Sorensen to push on a bit more with McLean slotting into left back as cover. He is probably our best midfielder in terms of aerial duels as well. He gave the ball away a few times early on but he again grew into the game and was combative. Emi’s desire was inspirational, he was everywhere closing people down. And that’s without mentioning his ability on the ball and goal.
I actually thought the ref was fairly decent, he probably got a few wrong for both sides but he tried to let the game play and kept his cards in his pocket.
Being left-footed, McLean has an advantage both defensively and in attack. I was also impressed with both Cantwell and Dowell, who both looked sharp after their long time out. Dowell was unlucky to not score as his shot took a slight deflection on to the post. With a bit more luck, we could have won that at a canter.
And to praise another player I thought Hanley was dominant, strong in the tackle, our pacing a couple of their players, nipping in front to get the ball and releasing the ball smartly.
...During an insane period of injuries where frankly I was hoping we could simply keep pace with the pack and not drop off too badly. What a squad!!
We're going to make a lot of money when the time comes. After add-ons didn't we pay something like £2.5m for his services? Hope he stays but you've got to think plenty of teams will be taking note of him.
We've now played 7 of the top nine teams and beat them all except Bournemouth. Six out of those 7 games we were the away team. Swansea was the only home game. Watford is the only other team and we play them next week. That means we are at home to 7 of those 8 teams in the second half of the season.
By which time hopefully the vaccine will have done its work and there will be the Carrow Road 12th man
MOSCOW – A health official’s warning that anyone getting vaccinated against COVID-19 with Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine should give up alcohol for almost two months has caused a backlash among some Russians who call the request unreasonable https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/12...-vaccine-warning-draws-backlash-rebuttal/amp/ You first
I just have some worries, possibly unjustified, about the goal difference - I would prefer to see us ahead on that score too As it is, we are 10 goals behind Bournemouth who have enjoyed a few goal-fests already this season.
Another stat from @ncfcnumbers, Teemu Pukki's 39 championship goals since the start of the 18/19 season is more than any other player - and he went a full season without a championship goal in that period.
Exactly what I said after the final whistle. Has the ability to unlock stubborn defences with one stroke of brilliance.
That was a rubbish game, no-one got injured. Weren't they trying? Matron will be back on the dole soon at this rate. OTBC.
Don't worry Rob. I had the first of my two shots yesterday so I will definitely be back by mid-January .........
Dunc wants to know if it was the Sputnik one and if that will make your statistical posts more understпонятный?
