Very true. You still needed a deflection and a defensive error and for us to miss four clear chances.
Lámela would have been good for us tonight. Only sell him when we get his attitude in a healthier player.

Attitude is pointless though when never available. Year or so a go a stat showed he's missed three seasons worth of football since joining Spurs, can only imagine that stat has worsened since. Personally I'd get rid ASAP. Problem is no one will be stupid enough to buy him so we're likely stuck with him.

What also irks me today is that we played a weaker team (and **** awful formation) against the best side in the league than we did against Palace, whilst also leaving our best creative CM on the bench for the whole game.

**** show of decisions these last couple of games. The last two games were reminiscent of the **** we were seeing under Poch towards the end.

15 sec penalty and now a 90 minute winner. Daft I call it! If we are any good we should clobber the next team or..........?

We'd have to sell before we buy, our squad registration is at full capacity so there's no way we'd take the risk of buying someone before getting rid.

I'd actually have no issue if we tried buying off his contract to be honest, I don't think we'll find a buyer and he's wasting a spot in our squad for someone who could be available when needed. As a player I like him but I'm tired of this **** of him never being available, he's our Wilshire.

    **** happens.

We ain't all that good ... if City, United and Chelsea functioning properly we'd be 5th which is as high as we could hope imho.

If we come top 4 and win a cup it would be a fantastic season.

We have won 2 cups since the start of the premier league started 29 seasons ago and have had so many "close" calls and heart breaks like 8 fa cup semi final loses, 2 league cup semi final loses, 3 league cup final loses and CL final loss.
I think this has made us desperate but also a bit too unrealistic.

Liverpool are way better than us as a team (their record over the past 2 years has been light years ahead of us) so the idea that we could win the league is beyond fanciful.

I didn't want Maureen (like many on here) but think we have no choice but to get behind the team.

    I suspect this season, like 1993, 1995, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 will be another case of "if only" but I'll be delighted to be proved wrong.

Getting nearer to the Jan window mate, it's Jose's way to show he needs players.

Interesting to think, given how they have pulled away from the rest in the last couple of seasons...they have still finished below us 7 times in the last ten seasons. All that with our minimal spending, new stadium being built, not spending £70-80m to fix areas at will.

Just shows how well the club have done in the last decade, incredible really and now we really are competing at the very top with everything in place.

Mou has to deliver a trophy. It’s all that is left. Everything is in place. Zero excuses.

It likely will be and it's exactly why I said the Palace point was a **** point when some were trying to put a positive spin on it.

Losing to Pool is no biggie for me, they're a brilliant team and the best in the country, albeit the manner of defeat was disappointing because we approached it completely wrong and that's what annoyed me.

But losing to Everton (at home) with draws against Newcastle (even if dodgy pen), West Ham and Palace are the types of results we always look back on every season as to what cost us in regards to what we're trying to achieve.

I can't see us us signing many if any mate. Our squad is at full capacity so unless we can bin 2 or 3 it's likely that incomings won't be on the agenda. In general I'm happy with the squad too and I think Jose is to be fair, it's only a second DM that I feel we desperately lack but with Skipp to return in the summer we only need a short term option.

On top of everything else, December is a period which teams have to gut through due to the amount of fixtures the period throws up

And that's why the Palace and Saltypool matches, both in terms of result and performance, gall that little bit more than they should as both felt like we were trying to cut corners to get something out of them and were found out

Even if we (for the sake of argument) managed to snatch a win against Palace, because to be blunt that's the only verb which would have been fitting given that non-performance for 60+ minutes, that still would've felt less like gutting through a tough match and cutting corners to nick three points, and frankly I'd prefer one win achieved through sheer bloody mindedness than three that we somehow got away with

this bit bothers me, are you telling me that you have a bigger squad of players (over 21) than City, Chelsea, United?
I only ask because i never see anyone else saying they can't buy players because their squad is at capacity.
Being genuine here, pretty sure you know when i am on the wind up.

The squad is badly imbalanced on the HG side.
So if Messi decides to come to play for Spurs on tuppence wages,
we have to move someone non-HG Someone who is quite comfy
on PL wages and is not gonna shift just to please the club.

I think we're at 24 out of 25 in terms of players over 21 in our Prem squad. Tanganga is essentially our 25th man too and is the only one under 21.

In Europa we couldn't register Gazzaniga and Gedson though due to the max 17 non-HG player ruling in that.

We've also got Danny Rose who isn't registered in either.

We definitely need to shift in my opinion, especially as some are barely getting any minutes and just eating into our payroll.

I understand the HG/CG part but do you actually have a 25 man squad of players over the age of 21?
