It also reads as the EFL passing the buck. They should have postponed the game as it was a public health risk. They didn't have any problems stopping everything the Blackpool weekend, same way they decided on the fiasco of who went into the play offs. Easy to see why they are interested in creeps like Rodwell, my opinion of course.

Your fact checking needs looking at as Bristol Rovers announced yesterday, the same day as us.

and that shouldn't be the clubs call. If we didn't play, we don't know whether we will be hit with a points deduction, a forfeit a fine or even all of them. That's the whole point, how the **** after 8 months have they no idea what sanctions could be

That statement from the efl basically says 'you have the option to postpone the game, but you'll take the consequences' whatever they are. Passing the buck, and not a way to run the game.

  13. The rule is there. If you have a positive test you can call off the match. The EFL will then investigate the circumstances to check you’ve acted correctly. If they find the positive test has come about as a result of breaching the guidelines, the club can be sanctioned.... either forfeiting the match, points deduction, a fine, or all three!
We opted to play the match.... draw your own conclusions!

I think the answer is in the fact that we put a team out with every position covered, how can we say we couldn’t fulfil the fixture, we’d have been deducted points or the game awarded to Wimbledon.

The EFL should be calling the match off immediately until they can fully investigate the cause. How the hell did Sanderson, Dobson, Embleton and Grigg all start last night and not find themselves having to isolate when they were sat on a bench with Maguire on Saturday, the day before he tested positive, and sharing a changing room and a ****ing bus journey to Lincoln and back?
The EFL should be taking control of these situations with proper rules behind them, not passing the ****ing buck to clubs who will be afraid of the unknown consequences that seemingly have never been explained or ratified to them.

We had players who hadn't trained and weren't fit after injury playing. They wouldn't have been on the bench and would've been resting and recuperating from their injuries not being risked further injuring themselves. We also had players who had played the night before for the under 23's who won't have recovered from that. No way can anyone claim that was a fully fit team/squad playing.

Far as I am concerned the EFL has failed as a governing body, if anybody should be sanctioned it should be that shower of ****e.

We know its our decision, but it shoudnt be, the efl should be saying call it off andbthere will be no sanctions, as its a health risk to our players and the wimbledon players and staff. The efl are basically saying they will investigate and to see if the club had enough players to fullfill the fixture whichnin theory they did
