I don't mind him going, as long as there is a recall clause. TBH, he's been awful so far, but I'm putting that down to just returning from injury. Give him 4 months in a CCC side, and he'll be at the top of his game.

I wouldn't go as far as 'awful', he was one of our best players pre-season, but you're right about sending him out. Give him time at a Championship club where he'll walk straight into the starting lineup and he'll come back better.

Give him a recall clause and some fitness-boosting football, like Kightly for Wolves, and he could be quality.
It's not like he's even a regular on the bench at the moment!

Guthrie was solid at the end of last year - against Spurs he was brilliant - including the pass to our curly haired sex machine

This. I'm comfortably with him being cover to Cabaye and Tiote. He's like a very poor man's Xabi Alonso in some respects to be honest. Smudger knows what I'm talking about. He's kind of a deep-lying playmaker. Very good long passer, good control and on his day he's canny. <ok>

This. With Abeid as well, and Sammy possibly as an extra AM, we're fine in midfield if he goes on loan. We can recall him anyway if we're struck by a virus/Tiote...

This also. Doncaster are really going for the ''star names'' y'know.. they've bought in Ilunga from West Ham and Pascal Chimbonda.. now there looking at the likes of Diarra(free agent) and Piquionne. <ok>

Gosling should go there on a loan until Jan but obviously with a recall option in the contract. <ok>

True. But I'll imagine it's because of the new manager coming in and I doubt they'll pay the full wages for Piquionne and Ilunga who are coming in on loan.. I'll imagine it's 50/50 on wages. <ok>

Oh him! If they were playing Championship Manager 06 instead of real life they'd dominate the league just by getting him <ok>

Wow, Diarra would be a hell of a coup for them, I'd still have him here!

Mmm.. same but the only thing is that he also might be going to the African Cup of Nations'. So it'll mean Guthrie, Gosling, Abeid and Cabaye as our only natural CM's. I won't count Smith and Vuckic because one's past it and not even a midfielder(Smith) and one's not really a natural CM.. more of a AM.

But yeah I would have him at the right wages. Perfect cover for Tiote.

Wow! Diarra would be a class signing - he still only 30 and Real Madrid paid about £20m for him!

Chimbonda was great for Wigan and should do class for them, Ilunga and Piquionne would also be class signings.

They already have Billy Sharp who I rate hightly - especially at that level and solid Champ players like Tommy Spurr, John Oster, James Coppinger, Neil Sullivan and Richard Naylor.

    Doncaster for promotion!! haha

Chimbondas good in my book. Piquionne is a decent enough striker - nothing to write home about. I don't really rate Ilunga always thought him a bit crap to be honest.

But Diarra? Can't believe he's out on a free - to have a former Real Madrid player at that age and good enough quality (apart from Julien Faubert haha) still on a free? madness.

Haven't really seen Doncaster play - but Sharp has the potential for like a 98 overall on FIFA 11 manager mode. must be decent enough ;)

A lot of short memories here. Guthrie was our best midfielder in the Championship. And whenever he was called upon and match fit last season he put in damn good performances. Played a bad game at West Brom when he was clearly unfit. But turned in class performances towards the end of the season.
