Strange to confirm that tbh How can we learn if we don’t know what’s offered and what he’s asking for? he’d be a fool to leave currently but may have had his head turned. How longs his deal got to go?
Well that confirms it for me. While you all frap yourselves competing for who can slag off McCann the most, the biggest problem in this football club by far is doing his work again. The root cause of this slump - Ehab Allam.
Surprised about the KP situation or not as the case may be. I would have thought with some of the other young lads signing and the 'potential' to play at a higher level next year which would affect his wages, that he's not happy. Is it just the contract and money has to be a secondary question.
Grant didn't help himself there. Should have just said 'we want him focussed'. Got drawn too much on that IMHO....
Or during the wonderful days of Terry Dol*n when we went eleven games without a win ? Or three if you include his agent. Demanding more cash for a player who hasn't got a full season under his belt yet at a time when money in football has all but dried up isn't exactly a strong point for negotiating.
Pretty much said the money is agreed but it's the option on the extra year that's the issue. We don't want him running his contract down and leaving for free, which is a fair enough strategy. I wouldn't have made that public though.
Money is agreed. It's the length of contract. Seems he wants the option to run down his contract and leave for free in 1 or 2 years.....
Yeah, though I was only 10 when he arrived at City. I knew he was a big deal, I remember the football being crap too. I measure it relatively, though. Because we played crap in the Premier League, but we had better players then so it was a different kind of crap and even then, we were small fish in a very big pond. We're playing poorly relative to the quality we have now, which is worrying because a lot of our players would walk into most of these other teams and we're probably the biggest team in the league. That doesn't give us a divine right to walk the league, but it does mean at the very least that we should be beating the likes of Blackpool, Swindon and Shrewsbury.
Yes of course. But within reason, you pay your best young star what other clubs think he is worth. Or they **** off for nothing. The penny pinching on KLP's wages will always be a false economy.
Maybe he just wants guarantees he’ll get a go in the middle instead of eaves. To be honest if I didn’t get that promise, I wouldn’t sign
So it's not greedy Ehab then which will disappoint one or two ? If the latter is true then another club has tapped him up and KLP holds all the ace cards. Either way these matters should be kept in house and not be made common knowledge on local radio.
There's been 1 or 2 poor performances all season. Still top on points with a game in hand despite 1 point from 3. No club goes through the season without a flat spot. Making it more than it is risks undermining confidence though... Support them. That includes the manager.
