**** is hardly an insult on here.

You ignored the contents of my post, my initial question and anything you don't want to acknowledge because it proves you wrong.

Lots of people died in so-called communist countries. They didn't die because of communism, they died because they were ruled by ****s. Can you not tell the difference?

If we're playing that game then Capitalism started every war since we moved out of huts. It's easy to make nonsensical generalisations.

As I said before, read what the concept of communism stands for.

It would help if you're asking questions to understand what the other person's point was.

I do try to understand yours, I really do.

He doesn't believe the holocaust figures, yet believes some random estimates about the victims of 'communism'.

Next you'll be telling us that 'the British stole £45trn from India', and quoting the incredibly wealthy Shashi Tharoor (who had no role whatsoever in the death of his wife, despite the allegations of certain lowlifes)

India's population, like that of Ireland, grew at an unprecedented rate due to the technological, scientific and agricultural brilliance of the British elite. The amount of arable land in India grew eightfold under British rule, and the population more than doubled.

We didn't starve anyone though. The British cannot be blamed for droughts, nor monsoon floods. The population grew as a consequence of agricultural advance, disproportionately so, and when poor harvests resulted from months of adverse weather conditions the swollen population suffered. There were approximately twice as many Indians at the end of British rule as at the start, an astonishing increase for a nation whose inhabitants already numbered in the nine-figures.

The concentration camps point is crass more than anything. There's a clue in the word 'concentration': women and children were giving support to a band of guerrilla fighters, and so they were detained in makeshift prisons. A truly evil nation hell-bent on conquest for conquest's sake would've butchered them like dogs, not expended time, effort, manpower and money on keeping them alive. Being some 8,000 miles from Britain and reliant on the skills of a few soldiers, poor management of both resources and the confined naturally led to outbreaks of disease and malnutrition; something that caused outrage in the UK. I'm sure that you're also aware that one-fifth of Afrikaners in the field during the Boer War were fighting as allies of the British? Also, who do you think it was that said of those concentration camps, "One is only too thankful nowadays to know that our wives are under English protection"? Hint: he's rather a major figure in Boer and South African history...

It's also worrying that you think these measures were an original idea, or that they are in any way connected to Nazi Germany. Truly disturbing. I'd like to think you are just a halfwit, but it seems more likely that you are someone who knows precisely what he is saying but prefers distortions and obfuscations to the truth, so long as it serves a perceived moral case.

Oh, and yes; communism is bad

    Literally irrelevant

It's 'England', you gammonous berk. Also, I'm not so sure about the 'white power' battle cry, but whatever floats your boat

    Otherwise, an excellent post

I see that you've rather bluntly ignored everything I wrote and repeated yourself. I direct you to my previous post and implore you to either read it properly, so that it sinks in, or to head off to another website or a library to read about the topics mentioned.

I must say that I know very little about the Mau Mau. Please feel free to enlighten me, I love learning more about our nation's incredibly storied history (good and bad alike). I don't doubt that you are very well informed on the matter and have read a range of sources about the period, so post away!

A Spanish general named Weyler first implemented the use of reconcentrados, or "camps of reconcentration" to enclose the Cuban civilian population loyal to Spain in what were meant to be safe areas. This was during the Cuban War of Independence in the 1890s, when the Spanish empire was faced with a guerrilla insurrection. Those outside the designated camps were to be deprived of amenities and forced into submission. In practice, about 25,000 died in the "camps of reconcentration" due to poor diet and disease

That's because it's a Spanish word translated years later to English.

    The Germans called them Konzentrationslager
