He is a bright chap though and I reckon he'd already worked out that Piltdown Man was a hoax. A subtle dig at historians that was really worth 10 out of 10.
Hardly 'news' but... London faces a move to tier three - England's highest level of coronavirus restrictions - in the coming days, the BBC has been told. Ministers and officials are said to be "deeply concerned" about a sharp rise in Covid-19 cases across the capital. BBC health editor Hugh Pym reports London MPs have been briefed on the data, but no decision has been taken. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55301192
Can we have the fans thread reopened Received this email, am i reading this right that the club are going to **** over thoose who have being paying membership since March in favour of thoose willing to stump up an extra £100 on top of that, shocking behavior from the club if thoose paying the £100 extra get priority similiar to Chelsea and other clubs in stiffing fans that have being loyal through out the pandemic. " We have to anticipate ( albeit unlikely ) that with the review of the COVID tiers this week, Hull will be dropped down into Tier 2, thus allowing 2000 supporters back into the KCOM stadium to watch LIVE football! The first game that this will apply to is Hull City v Lincoln City on 29th December 7pm kick off. Therefore to help us prepare for this in advance I would like to gauge how many of you would like to attend should this go ahead. The ticket price is £100 +vat per person which will include a 3 course meal. (We will not be offering a box only ticket for this game) We can allocate 1 ticket per membership held and you must attend and sit with your family/support bubble. The maximum we can have in each box is 6 people. If you can please email me back with your requests if the announcement is indeed made on the 17th December that we will be going into Tier 2 Strict COVID guidelines must be adhered to; including hand sanitising, social distancing and mask wearing at all times. "
I am an ordinary member and I haven't received anything by email, are you a Corporate member or a sponsor? Judging by the £100+ vat it looks as of this is for the corporates who would have attended the 1st test fixture. Also I cannot see us getting Tier 2 until January at the earliest, especially now that London has been upgraded to Tier 3. No footie, pubs or theatre for the soft southerners now.
No i'am not a corporate member, i did enquire last time they did a hospitality thing showing the game on screen at a much cheaper price of £30 so still ripping fans off even if this is for corporate only, they may well have mixed up emails but totally agree even though Hull and most of England is tier 2 level that recent outburst from some NHS chiefs has meant theres going to be very few places moving down a tier until mid the mid January review at least.
zero deaths on the wifes ward yesterday but still busy. but as we've seen throughout this pandemic covid seems to take sundays off cos the figures are always lower
Nah, I reckon they've just realised that the crowds weren't helping Arsenal. We're not shedding many tiers up here over it. It's an odd thing to mention, given there's been about 40 variants so far.
Looks like Hancock was fluffing to appease London. They've got to have a special one of their own to justify getting more money.
167 per 100.000. Though this would be odd news, as it was lower than this and only yesterday, they announced the biggest rise in cases in Yorkshire.
I think that tier 2 restrictions have, in general, not proven to be particularly effective in reducing viral spread and given that the decision to put London into tier 2 was always a rather contentious one, the increases seen there might have been expected. I suspect the suggestion that the "new" variant may have been the cause of an unusually high spread is a bit of a red herring to deflect attention from an unwise decision.
Is that the average for the whole area? I've just run a few Leeds post codes through the Official Government site, and they're coming back quite a bit higher than that. For Example, LS1 is 250.
Strange that as a lot of LS1 is not highly density population, loads of offices, restaurants etc there not so many residents.
