As I said before is it the players not performing as we know they can or is it the manager hamstringing them by his tactics and team selection We set up as 4 5 1 even the Deeney of six years ago would have struggled against 3 giant supporters
I've just cancelled my Beer52 subscription as their quality has dropped loads of the last year or so. Going to check out Beerhawk... Missed out on both CBR festivals this year due to covid and life. They're amazing...
So we now know why there were 2 keepers on the bench - Foster played with 2 fingers bandaged together! ✌!!
Deeney should’ve had Perica come on as a strike partner so much sooner. Or anyone else. Even Gra... Well, nearly anyone else.
I think Matej got it right when he said that Perica did a ‘Crystal Palace forward trick’, running across the defender’s legs. I think the photo shows Perica was more interested where the defender’s legs are than the football.
I disagree - the photo doesn't capture what the highlights did. To me, they quite clearly show that Perica had the defender beaten for pace - and the defender only got to the ball by a slide tackle from slightly behind and across Perica's legs. I doubt Perica could have stayed upright even if he wanted to.
I think it’s a question of vectors! Perica’s movement goes away from the ball to go across the defender’s legs.
I agree with win some lose some. But I don’t want to cheat and seemingly justify that with “Well Bournemouth and Palace did it to us”. No suggestion intentionally implied that you think we should cheat! How are you, by the way?
He took the player first and ball 2nd in my opinion. He came from behind and Perica had come from his blindside. True Perica was waiting for the contact but was perfectly reasonable to be given compared to many others I've seen this season in the Championship.
He had to go through Perica to get the ball. When that is happening to a player he knows he should get a penalty. The Brum player started diving in when he was well behind Perica, too. Both the linesman and the ref were well placed to see that. If Perica had started to go down before contact, like Sarr the other week, then it may have been a different matter.
They get given guys, I agree. I just don’t like them. I think he was beaten so went for the penalty. I don’t think it’s the Watford Way. Not the one in Hendon. You know what I mean.
Yes - it was a desperate lunge really as Perica had beaten him for pace. You can see it why it was given - VAR might have thought differently.
