Özil is very much like Bale. He gets paid a lot and is unwanted, but contract has a while to go yet. Likely not to get a new deal anywhere else as good as he is getting and no other big club really wants him. May aswell turn up to training and get paid big money while you still can.

Arsenal are really in big trouble. If their next opponents perform to form they could find themselves losing 2 more matches. Southampton at home and Everton away are probably the toughest matches outside the so called top 6. The executive may take action soon and I wouldn’t be surprised if the manager was gone by the end of next week. Only a win in midweek could save him.

But what really stood out for me though was how the crowd behaved at the Emirates. I had to check several times that there were real people inside not card board cut outs. These spectators sat there and did not move at all during the match. To say the stadium was silent is an understatement. A library would have been more noisy. What was the point of the team to have 2000 people in? The other London teams like Palace West Ham and Fulham had really noisy crowd support and benefitted massively.

I watched the match on tv. And I was wondering why there were no crowds. Tier 2 and all that.
