Whyy oh why has he gone by to negative 5 at the back and Albrighton! Not to say we won’t win but if we do it’ll be a turgid display unlike the enjoyable attacking system and performance from mid week that has become all too rare. Not expecting great entertainment but it’s a results business so let’s see if this is enough to get that..
agreed - I totally don't get it - surely brighton will be set up to defend and counter so why do a defensive overload? let's hope we are wrong
The main reason for not trusting Thomas in a 4 would be Lampey and his attacking threat but he isn’t playing so don’t get it. If the absence of Thomas, Barnes and Under is because they played 90 minutes on Thursday, well it’s not like we weren’t able to change half the side in the EL once the game was secure earlier on... It’d just be nice to see us go out like Southampton earlier and put the lower sides away with ease. Would love Hassenhutl here..
Well what about that! Can’t imagine any of us saw that coming. JJ fantastic and Albrighton having a very good game. My concern about Albrighton is whether he has the legs to beat his man which he has done a few times tonight. Maddison with good finishes as well. We did look too shakey at the back early on considering the number of defensive players and could have been dominated but seems that he changed the system soon after and JJ to the right has been inspired. Hopefully see out a comfortable win from here....hopefully!
Very professional performance. Great stuff 1st half, but Kasper needs credit for 2 great saves at 0-0. James Justin ran riot in the first half after we changed to 4-4-2.
Great goals from Madders but JJ man of the match ... and must soon enter Gareth Southgate's thoughts ... can play left or right full back or in the centre .... cracking prospect.
Totally agree with everything being written about JJ. It would be a shame if he had to resort to left back because his delivery from that side isn't so assured. The all round improvement in his game over the last 6 months is incredible. What a buy he's turning out to be.

Quite simply, 4 homes defeats before Christmas to Aston Villa, West Ham, Fulham and Everton (rather than Liverpool, Man City etc) doesn’t really spell doing much this season. Far too inconsistent, not enough idea how to play against a packed defence so all a bit meh. Still the same problem that when we lose we do so so tamely barely laying a glove on them. Very uninspiring....
Disappointing again. We are so inconsistent but every team in the league bar Sheffield United has been inconsistent so far this season.
Rodgers- we are disappointed the penalty got overturned as it would have set us up to get something in the last 10 minutes. Factually correct but that is the problem, you can’t blame that decision, play crap for 80 minutes and go 2 behind you have lost the game from your own doing not the official. Take some responsibility for it Brendan! Not to say Lee Mason wasn’t crap as he was, with the small decisions, giving them a free kick for every single thing and letting them time waste so much.
