Nah. It is a weak Championship and as far as this Championship is concerned they are a very good side in it. They are miles better than Bristol City and Stoke and will easily be in the top 6. If they loan a genuine goalscorer like Brewster they could be top 2.
swansea were allowed to do so simply because they had 3 in midfield. Harris fatally failed to match them up. It wasn’t difficult to pass around the statuesque Ralls and Vaulks. Harris can moan about the failure to stop a soft opener and the lack of urgency and the crucial errors by the hopeless official but the buck stops with him. He messed up big time this summer and today. swansea can feel pleased but jeez City made it so easy for them.
Come on Nin - we had eleven players on the pitch at any one time (10 after Ralls got his marching orders) who didn't have a clue what to do. You can blame that on the manager and I actually agree with you to a great extent, but the lack of basic passing ability and support for one another amongst those out there was appalling. I said a few weeks back that Ralls and Vaulks couldn't play together on the pitch at the same time and had to eat my words this past fortnight, but today that opinion has come full circle. Swansea constantly played the ball around them and they resorted to aggression as a result. You could argue that was because there were only two of them in the middle instead of three, so then your back to management and selection issues. Yes, it's down to the manager to select, organise and instruct his chosen players as to what he wants done and to that extent, Cooper crushed him. Harris has had a huge personal boost from the previous 4 wins but this game and the manner by which we lost it has laid a few myths bare. It's clearly exposed our shortage of quality on the pitch and dare I say it, management off it.
Definitely a misjudgement to stay with 442 as it made it easier for them to dominate and utilise their possession. Think if their Bennett had been sent off it would have been a relatively harsh 2nd yellow but would have been understandable too. Ojo was well off it today and weirdly I actually thought we played better football when Ralls went off. Only bright spot was Glatzel looked bright again when he came on.
There were no bright spots. I thought Glatzel played really well against Stoke. Today he did nothing apart from miss the target when he should have scored. Ojo was our best player by a distance in my opinion. Id have given him a 6 out of 10.
Now this has got to hurt. This year.. Swansea u18’s beat Cardiff ✅ Swansea u23’s beat Cardiff ✅ Swansea’s women beat Cardiff ✅ Swansea 1st team beat Cardiff ✅
