    Why the **** wasn't Steven Taylor picked for the England squad? :emoticon-0104-surpr

    Steven has always given 100% and has been solid this season, He and Coloccini have the best defensive record in the league so far. But noooo Cappello goes and chooses Gary Cahill, will all due respect he is a very good player but has he been playing as good as Taylor? I think Bolton have the worst defensive record of the season atm. He is playing better than Cahill and Jagielka so far this season.

    Ah well, Capello has never visited St James, on the one occasion he was going to he couldnt make it becasue of the fog he claimed <laugh>

    <ok>

    Feel slightly sorry for Saylor but would rather he had a couple of weeks rest and not injured playing for England.

    Crapello can't pronounce Newcastle so he hasn't been able to ask for a ticket up to Toon.

    I wouldn't have picked him yet I must admit. Cahill and Jagielka are both playing well and have been the best two centre halfs over the last two years. Neither has put a foot wrong for England and you have to show some loyalty. I wouldn't pick Terry but can understand why he is. I'd have Lescott over Terry who has also never had a bad game for England and is not so rash. Obviously we need to start integrating Jones and Smalling (injured for this one) and they are versatile. I hope Taylor will force his way in later in the season by virtue of his first consistent run of games since the fizzy pop. Pearce and Capello like him and he won't be far away. When he gets in it'll be on merit and on the back of 20 good games as opposed to 7 or 8.

    From what I have seen, Jagielka has been poor this season by his high standards.

    Funny how players like Taylor don't get picked but Bradley Johnson from Norwich was in the provisional 30 man squad...

    Exactly my point, players should be picked on form.. And Taylor has been one of the most in form England defenders this season.. :cheesy:

    Must admit I've been impressed again. He was good v Liverpool (bar penalty) in difficult circumstances after crazy refereeing. Was really good against Man City as it got a bit back to the walls at time. Seems to be threatening regularly attacking wise on set pieces. I really like him and think he is better than Terry who just gets sucked out at international level. That said Terry has also looked much better than last year. I think Tayls will eventually get a run, I've been his biggest fan and always maintained we needed to wait till his mid twenties to see him at his best. I just think its too soon as he needs to do it over a long period, and the other guys have earnt it.
